I'm leaving for a festival next week, so I've already come to terms with mine not arriving in time for that. But taking my old AVLP with me is no big deal either, still my favorite device for portable use

Can I ask you what makes it your favourite one? Do you find it a hard hitter? Until now I've had a S&B Crafty+ and a Dani Fusion 2.0 that I love for at home. I didn't love the Crafty that much specially because of the battery life and also because I didn't think it was such a hard hitter, that's why I sold it and went for the AVLP2.

It has 30W of heating power, same as the Mighty/Crafty, and very similar chamber size to the Crafty/Mighty, so it will hit similarly hard if you set it to a lower temperature, but since the maximum temperature is much higher than on the Crafty you can get much bigger hits from it if you really want to, just set the temp to 220C, and it will extract the chamber in a few draws, a bit longer when using dosing capsules. But don't expect Tinymight levels of power from it. Probably no Dani Fusion 2.0 levels either, although I haven't used that one yet personally so I can only guess.

Battery life is *much* better than with the Crafty, depending on the session length you can get about 8 to 10 sessions (no idea about on-demand mode as I don't use it much). If that's still not enough, you can just carry a 2nd 18650 battery to swap in when the first one is empty. Size is similar to the Crafty as well, and although cleaning the V1 is a pain in the ass, it's not much worse than cleaning the cooling unit of a Crafty. It also heats up *very* fast compared to the Crafty.

Of course, I haven't received my V2 yet, so I can only speak for the V1, but I think you will be pretty happy with it coming from a Crafty.

Yes, the higher maximum temperature and the possibility of changing the battery are mainly my reasons for having sold the Crafty and gone for the AVLP2. I've also heard that vapour is easier to take in the AVLP which allows higher temperatures not coughing... In addition I think I'll like the on demand mode as, when I smoked, I liked taking it easy with the joint, smoking 1/3 of it, letting it be for maybe 15 or 30 minutes and getting back to it for another couple of puffs... Basically making it last for ever. I never had a vaporizer with an on demand mode but I like the idea.
I didn't go for the TM2 because I didn't want to spend all that money(I sold the Crafty for more than I payed for the AVLP2 with the presale price) and because I want it for out and about where I don't want to use my Dani and look like a crackhead and I've heard people saying they didn't find the TM2 great for outdoors use taking into account it's not very durable and the vapour is too harsh, which will make you want to use it with some glass stem and also a battery because battery life is not great either, which will make you carry too much stuff making it not as portable... I'll most likely get an extra battery for the AVLP2 too because I didn't like not being able to finish a session due to having finished my battery in the Crafty, but I don't want to have to carry any extras if I'm just going to the pub the weekend for example.

I had similar thoughts before my AVLP arrived, and I tried out the on-demand mode, but it's sadly not implemented that great on it. Maybe it's better on the V2, but on the V1 you need to first turn it on by pressing the power button 3 times, same as when using session mode, and only then will it start heating up if you hold down the power button. That may not sound like a big deal, but every time you let go of the power button, and it has fully cooled down, it will turn itself off again. So if you are expecting to take 15 to 30 minutes between hits, you will need to turn it back on every time, because that is more than enough time for it to cool down completely. Which is probably not a big deal for your use case, just a slight annoyance.

I was hoping to use the on-demand mode when vaping outdoors with a group of other people, so I don't waste any herb if I spend a few minutes talking instead of taking a hit. I've had many occasions where I tried to use it like that, held down the power button, then I wonder why it's taking so long to heat up and vibrate, until I notice it turned itself off while I was talking. So I just use the session mode exclusively nowadays. But your mileage may vary with your use case.

Also, if you are using dosing capsules, the on-demand mode doesn't work that well. The cold shell of the dosing capsules causes the first 1 or 2 hits to be pretty disappointing, only once the dosing capsule itself has soaked up some heat do you get the same big hits you get when using no dosing capsules.

Unless you are planning to split a single chamber into more than 5 different tokes, and letting it cool down every time, I don't think you are going to be degrading it by a significant amount

Cool then. Another possible scenario is being gaming or playing my guitar and going for a puff now and then... I hated seeing how the Crafty had turned itself off after those 300 seconds not having touched it just because I was with a final boss or a long blues jam Also, to avoid the degradation of a full bowl, I could use the disc on top of the chamber making it smaller and charging half bowls instead of full ones... I guess I'll have to experiment

I am curious what the difference between V1 and V2 will be in an environment like a festival anyway. I think the airflow is advertised to be slightly more open but the majority of the improvements are in the cleaning of the device.

Same. We only know about the materials, the screen and the cleaning. No idea if anything will be improved apart from that but I guess they'd already have told if there was something else relevant enough to get more clients upgrading

I am curious what the difference between V1 and V2 will be in an environment like a festival anyway. I think the airflow is advertised to be slightly more open but the majority of the improvements are in the cleaning of the device.

I will be vaping from morning till night for the entire week, easily pushing 20 dosing capsules per day. That means I will have to disassemble and deep clean it multiple times over that week, probably every single morning, which is pretty annoying at a festival. The V2 would be less work to keep clean. With the new magnetic mesh screen I think it will also take more sessions before the buildup starts affecting the drawing resistance, although that is just speculation on my part
