when you see big manufactures do it, then it might happen
Then again when is Stors & Bickel coming out with new products? Or PAX?

I am trying to look at it from a manufacturers viewpoint. It would seem that some of these new offerings would result in a teardown that would consist of mostly destructive testing. Nothing to see here unless you were deliberately trying to reverse engineer something. As a manufacturer I wouldn't want my competitors to get my trade secrets as easily as watching a teardown

As a patient/consumer/end user we demand safety. Independent voluntary testing may be the most appropriate solution if they were forced to. But why would a Stors & Bickel or a PAX agree to that? They have past rep to rely on. They will get their sales anyway through name recognition if nothing else. No easy answers. But maybe if i were YLL would seek out that independent assessment or how else do you regain respectability?

The following post from very early this year is the one that concerned me, especially when the device appeared very ready for release:

Aerolite has been delayed due to some issues with production and the heater not being up to par.

[…]
update 2: for further clarification

"For the improvements, we are working on:

  1. Incorporating a larger heating element for enhanced performance.
  2. Improving insulation to ensure better efficiency and user experience."

Especially now, given the insulation “fix“ they used their other flagship (?) device.

yllvape shared this:
"For the aerolite, its delayed for the Angus enhanced concern, we will get all replacements done first then work on the aerolite."

The other thread (Fiberglass found in Angus Enhanced) is still locked, while waiting for a response from Mike (at YLL) — and it’s been almost a week now. Still waiting!

YLL is the manufacturer with the current “issues”. Perhaps they can try starting a new trend.

It could be another week or even more. It doesn't matter. There is no point in reopening that thread just to have the same arguments repeated. Meanwhile, this thread is about the Aerolite, not the Angus or fiberglass. Please keep to the topic. Any further posts along this line will be deleted.

@Pachena Keeping the aerolite topic, not other.
About the concern about the delay because the heater: Yllvape had to change the lenght of the mesh coil, after that, they decide to make a ceramic "maze" (and making prototypes of a ceramic piece like that takes time), and finally they have to calibrate it again.

I see no problem. It is good to achieve a good calibration, recycling the air, with a good heat up time (we are talking about an on demand vape) and avoiding the coil to glow. The problem would be not to try to achieve this points.

I think they were trying to make small glass pieces to make a more pockeable form-factor too.

For folks that had been looking forward to the aerolite, what are you thinking these days? If YLL showed a complete teardown of the aerolite, would that be good enough for you? Or would you require 3rd party testing? Or is it, fuck them and never again?

I was very interested in the Aerolite. Now that Ive returned my AE to the dealer for a refund, I will see what the future brings. I have not ruled out getting one, but I will need to see a teardown.

I just deleted two posts from @Vapomans that a) discussed moderator actions, and b) continued the off-topic discussion. I also handed out two warning points. If anyone has a comment or question about this, you can send me a PM.

Edit: got a PM telling me to delete the account. Done.

I would require a random sample of several aerolites to be tested by a 3rd party.

This is probably unlikely, and let's face it there is plenty of other options to cure my VAS.

I'm certain someone will have a tear it down video when/if it's released. Until then it makes no sense to prognosticate.

Unless I am missing something about it (haven't been following this thread too closely) it doesn't feel like Aerolite offers as much unique that differentiates it from other on demand vapes, as opposed to the uniqueness and great flavor that comes from the halogen design of the AE.

So not sure why I'd choose it over a Firewood, Roffu, v3 Pro for example. Especially considering the price of Roffu and v3.
