Adding a 7th Floor vape to my collection--which one? (DBV, SSV, LSV)

Hi there, I already own two wonderful portable vapes, the MFLB and the Solo. My vaping materials are primarily flowers with occasional bubble/ice pressed pollen. I prefer the Solo's vapor quality (and bigger hits) to the MFLB (which I really only use for super-stealth situations since I got the Solo). I should also mention I enjoy using the Solo with my water pipe using 18mm gong, I'd say I use it about 50% direct with the straight glass stem, and 50% through the glass pipe with the adapter.

I am looking for a third vape for plug-in home use. My top criteria is clean and intense delivery of the medicine, as switching to 100% vape is a health decision for me.

Can anyone fill me in on the pros and cons of DBV vs SSV vs LSV? My first impulse was DBV because it seems like a solid value, and I like that it can sit unobtrusively on the table with the hands-free whip. However I also think LSV might be a good choice for me, in that it is similar in concept to the Solo (which I really like, but more powerful. I've never owned a whip vape before (only tried it at a friend's house) so I don't fully understand the pros and cons over time. I do like the experience of using my existing glass (it's a good placebo/ritual for keeping me away from combustion) and understand the LSV gets good reviews for vape-bonging, but from the youtube videos I've seen, it seems like LSV is more massive than the Solo (and corded) so doing so would be a clumsy, two-handed, undivided-attention operation? Seems like DBV or SSV could sit on the table connect to a glass pipe by whip and be much more hands-free with less risk of glass breakage; is that true, and if so, does said method deliver good results?

Which of these three devices do you think is best for someone whose primary goal is increasing the firepower of his vape arsenal? I really want a "heavy hitter" because, while I love 15 minute sessions sipping on my MFLB, sometimes I just want a large, quick dose of medicine!

Based on what you have said, I would say grab a DBV or SSV. Both will operate pretty much the same and will make a very easy connection to most glass pieces. The LSV is also a nice vape but IMO the SSV and DBV offer a hands free setup that is harder to achieve with the LSV.

I say dbv. You can always use a LSV wand for all glass vapor path and I used mine like a LSV for water tools, no whip needed IMO.

Thanks for the helpful replies!

Have any of you also tried the Solo? What can I look forward to switching to a 7th Floor, will I notice a big difference/improvement? :)

Oh, another question for all you DBV users out there... is it true that attaching DBV to a water pipe is a simple as removing the mouthpiece and inserting the whip tubing into a 14mm downstem? For those who have tried it, how effective is this method?

The DBV will blow the Solo out of the water. No comparison. DBV much larger hits with no draw resistance.

I mate my DBV directly to my 18mm bubbler using an 18/18 mm gg adapter as the bowl; no whip tubing needed. If your wp is 14mm you would need an 14/18 m/f gg adapter.

The whip method works fine, although I would get a gg wp adapter for connecting to your wp. I have used a 14/14 mm gg adapter for that purpose as well.

Thanks for the advice! Is this solution free-standing? (i.e. can you set it down on the table?) Or will the weight of DBV tip over the average sized water pipe unless you hold onto it with your hands? Or... I'm trying to picture this setup... is DBV just the right height that both DBV and the pipe are sitting stable on the tabletop?

That's what appeals to me about the whip+bubbler method, is that DBV can sit safely on the table and doesn't change the water pipe's center of gravity. I've knocked over my waterpipe+solo setup a couple of times, clumsy me... I think I am gravitating away from LSV (as much as I like the looks + concept) because of this risk. Shattered glass + bongwater + plug-in AC electrical device seems like a way to ruin the party.

Don't shy away from the LSV for the reasons you stated above. You don't leave the LSV attached to your waterpipe while you aren't hitting it. The way I describe it to people is you are using the LSV as your lighter. I have owned DBV and still own SSV and LSV. If you are going to use water, get an LSV.

Above whipless solution is not free standing. Not even close. If you would even consider doing something like this, you need an LSV.

Have I mentioned you should get an LSV?

I'm partial to the SSV. It is one of my favorite vapes.

You can choose between three Heater Covers (GG, SGG, or Standard). And with the Standard HC you can choose between two different wands, the stock SSV and a VB Mini for log size loads. Both wands can be fitted with an adjustable basket screen for adjusting load size.

The standard HC even works with e-nano stems and GonGs.

I really want to try the LSV and can't wait to see if they release a portable LSV as rumored.

I haven't tried the DBV, but I own a SSV and LSV. I find myself using the SSV more, but that's cause I don't vape bong that often. Also, the body of the LSV gets hot as fuck after awhile making it uncomfortable to hold. SSV and DBV just sit on the desk, so you don't have to actually touch the hot parts. LSV transfer wands can be a bit of a hazard too since it's a lot of glass and the LSV rolls a lil when you set it down.

That being said, LSV hits like a mofo, but so does the SSV and probably the DBV. You should be satisfied no matter what you choose.

Go the LSV, with a bit of imagination it can be every thing its big brothers can do + more.

I set the loaded 18/18 mm gg adapter atop my bubbler. I hold the bubbler in my right hand and then using my left hand, I hold the DBV sideways and mate it to the adapter, take my hit, then set both down.

When this method is employed you can load the bowl to the top with no worries about bud falling into the heater, as the bowl is always upright, you never have to clean or replace tubing, and I feel like I get bigger hits.

I've had my LSV for over 2 years now. Use it about 5 times a week. It NEVER gets too hot to hold and it's NEVER rolled off my table due to the temperature knob that keeps it from rolling around.
