ABV capsules - Time slows down - not sure if it's for me though

Hi everyone. I've had to have a temporary hiatus on vaping because my asthma's got quite bad recently and I think that was because of vaping a lot. I've had very little experience of edible so didn't know really what to expect. I once tried a cannabis pizza in Cambodia but I can't remember what I felt like. I remember the name of the pizza restaurant though and that was 'happy pizza'. Anyway, since I'm very poor in the kitchen I decided to simply buy some edible capsules and fill them up with ground abv. I was able to do this easily just using my hands. My abv is a golden brown colour and I have loads of it - about 250g on the last weigh in.

I took about 2g yesterday afternoon and I'm still feeling effects 24 hours later. The main reason I vape is because it enhances music quite a lot. Well, this abv changes music very dramatically but I'm not sure whether it's in a good way. It basically slows down the music - very noticeably - but I'm not sure whether it enhances it for me. The effects are slightly similar to having other psychedelics but without any of the euphoria. I get a very slight 'high' I think. I mainly listen to psych pop/rock and prog rock and I'm able to discern the lyrics much much easier than I could sober. It slows TIME down so much, it's very interesting!!

I'd say the other effects of eating abv in capsules are similar to the downside of smoking a lot (not vaporising). I get the couchlock effect without most of the high. I get a big bodyload and it's difficult to physically do anything. In future, I might use capsules with other psychedelics to see how well they go together. I don't use cannabis for medical reasons or to help me sleep but I can see how edibles might help if having it for those sorts of reasons. Edit: It seems to reduce my blood pressure and heart rate quite noticeably - by about 25 points systolic, 10 points diastolic, and pulse by a bit as well!

Hope you get better soon and can go back to vaping.

This is an interesting finding that you have.

I find that ingesting abv gives me a different type of high than vaping. First, I feel like it sends me into the background of things. Meaning, that I mostly feel like I am observing, it gets me alittle disorientated sometimes, that I have to put more energy into focusing. I am also more clumsy off ingesting abv. It does give me a nice body high and thats what I use it for.

You are right....Right now I am listening to music and it doesnt sound as awesome as when I just vape. Though I eat edibles, so I wouldnt spend the whole day vaping. Because the high lasts alot longer. I have found that having allday vaping sessions irritate my throat and lungs dramatically, even though I use a bubbler. So ingesting abv medibles and vaping one after the other, has worked for me.

I think everything in moderation. If you use cannabis all day long every day, you won't get the effects that you want from our fav flower. Your tolerance will be too high. Take a bit of a break. Also take edibles slowly.

I believe in moderation too but if you're using vaporised marijuana for music enhancement as I do it's quite difficult to overdo it I find. I've vaporised quite heavily most evenings over the past 18 months and I still get great effects nearly every evening. I just wish my lungs saw it that way. Since moving to edibles it's definitely possible to overdo it though I agree, especially when I feel the negative effects the day after.

I've also noticed the clumsiness with eating edibles as well. I haven't used the edibles socially yet so that'll be an interesting experiment. I think I also feel like the observer when I take them as well, so I see what you're saying. I'd say that's probably a neutral effect for me.

Yes, I believe in moderation as well. The slight disorientation, some clumsiness, is always present everytime I eat edibles, no matter if I eat the smallest piece. as far as music, It seems to me to that edibles makes music sound mono and a regular vaporizer high enhances the music and make it sound stereo all around. Mind you, I am still listening to the same music on my phone at the same volume. This happens to me no matter how small of a piece of edible I eat. obviously it multiplies greatly the nore edibles I eat, but even with a fraction of a fraction of a piece these minor annoyances are still present.I am working on a neutral line where the edibles side effects are minimum and I can still vape alittle and they meet halfway.

I will tell you this, as someone on this forum pointed out. Sometimes edibles make me feel great by itself, though that feeling varies within the same batch I make. So sometimes its hit or miss.

Last night I ate a small piece of an edible I made and I vaped alittle, I was really crazy high, it was a nice feeling, but my eyes were really heavy, I could hardly open them and I was getting a little drowsy. I liked it because I was relaxing at home, but I would never use edibles when I am outside. I am not as alert as if I were sober or had been vaping. Everything is slow motion as you say.

You could be right about the stereo/mono effect. I'll look out for that. I'm so used to stereo that I miss it when it's not present.

One other thing I've noticed about edibles is that I get very little of the paranoia that I get when I vape which is obviously a good thing. It does reduce my alertness though so like you I'm unlikely to use it outside.

I might have been wrong about the effects on heartrate and bp because I tested it today and it's still low and I didn't have any edibles yesterday.

Yeah, edibles affects everyone differently obviously. To my amazement there are some people who can eat a ton of edibles and not feel a thing or feel a slight buzz. I have a low tolerance for marijuana, alittle bite of an edible is enough for me to get the effects without it getting uncomfortable.

Your findings could be right. I know vaping marijuana increases my heart rate at least for the first hour, its gone as high as 140 bpms, though this was taken while I was standing up and moving around, resting heart rate after vaping has gone up as high as 120bpms and my blood pressure has gone as high as 140/90. By the way I wear a heart rate monitor, which I use for exercise and its pretty accurate and I also have a blood pressure monitor at home.

Now, I dont get worried about it because its only for an hours time frame, it stays alittle high after that but not by much. I know for sure the day after, my heart rate and blood pressure return back to normal, with a slight decrease.

So what I am trying to say is if you want to get more accurate results preform more experiments, you can also wait some days in between and log your data. The more experiments you have to compare the more accurate it should be. Also, keep in mind that the types of food you eat, stress and time of the day taken all affect blood pressure and heart rate.

The "mono" sound when I eat edibles is everwhere for me, not just music but the t.v. people talking to me and everything around me. It sounds like its at a distance, thats why I keep mentioning that I feel as if Im in the background of life for just a moment. Eating edibles does get me a bit trippy. Thats also another reason why I like it.

Yes, edibles do effect everyone differently. Also, I expect the effects are completely different with unvaped flowers/concentrates because the ratios of thc/cbd and other cannabinoids are going to be different.

I haven't tested myself to compare bp/heartrate effects when using vaped cannabis and not it. I've noticed my heartrate increases though. I was under the impression, probably wrongly, that cannabis decreases blood pressure. I'll have to check that out - especially considering I use prescribed medicine to lower my blood pressure!!

I think you're right again about all sound, and not just music, sounding like it's mono and distant.
