Guys. Let’s just stop our bickering. Grab a vape. Vape a bowl. I’ve never seen so much divide in this forum ever since I joined in 2015. We all need to stay positive. I think we all are going a little stir crazy from corona. And need to keep our emotions in check with everything. Let’s the 3 admins figure this out. If they need help or suggestions. They will ask. They have a huge job ahead of them. Everyone needs to understand one thing. This community is not lost. And will not be lost. Regardless of vtac came back or not. Which it’s nice he did. This is a safe space for a lot of people. I’ve made good friends here. I post here several times a day and sometimes just about nonsense. Our community lives on. Which is nice and pleasant to see. It’s all that we need in a time of difficulty. Coming together not only through Mary Jane. But through vaping it as well.

interesting. Seems like they are going to save the old forum. Not a bad idea. But then we having two homes? Or just one? And if one and the old is being updated, does that then mean the old threads will be unlocked again to post in?

No decisions have been made yet. The OG FC software has to be upgraded so that we can see what options we have. Threads will remain locked for now. Stay tuned.

Pak, the two domains maybe retained; fcombustion.com for email and fuckcombustion.com for the site. That does present the issue with image hosting sites. It would be possible to migrate the site to the new domain fcombustion.com, creating an A Record in DNS. Fuckcombustion.com would then be coverted to a pointer record in DNS which would take visitors to the same site. I am not sure whether Let's Encrypt would issue an SSL certificate to fuckcombustion.com, but worth a try.
If I had my druthers I would upgrade the old site (Already done!! Hurrah!), convert it to SSL, reopen the threads and establish the new email domain and the DNS pointer records for fcombustion.com to fuckcombustion.com. Regardless of what works best for you, @Stu and @vtac I will do whatever I may to support you. Respect and Big Ups! -YaMon

Don't know much about what happened in the past and I'm not entitled to know or have any explanation of the reasons behind your decision or thought process of welcoming back vtac, it's just the way things will be moving forward simple as that. to you. You really do deserve the highest of praise and you shouldn't feel obligated to provide by the minute updates, when you have more details worth sharing everyone will be all ears, old fc is safe and new fc has begun to thrive so relax and don't rush things . Just my :twocents:

I see that the change of the domain name is in discussion and i know some people are approving .But i doubt it is so with the majority . Imo fuck is not the same offensive word or at least people are less triggered by it,compared to few decades ago.. Fuck is a word of the future,the newer generations are expanding its use more and more each day.

I have no issues with the vulgarity. The problem is that the internet does. Many filters and blockers automatically block anything containing the word because of porn spammers, not because the word is offensive. This interferes with access and email delivery, so a fuck-free path is desirable.

So YaMon's suggestion is a workaround only for the e-mail issue... I personally prefer people that dont know FC, to think it is a pornsite,,rather than being aware of the real content,lol... Those are really popular around here,especially during the social distancing days.
I see how this can be an issue for many though..,but probably again not 100% of them gonna be happy with the change.
So in other words if it pleases the masses ,i am not fighting it !
@Summer Depends on which section you are browsing,there might be more entertaining sights than the domain name,lol .

I would continue with the plan. Slowly stop new posting on the old forum - transfer to the new forum. To change the plan now would lead to too much confusion.
The old forum could stay as it is as a reference or imported to the new forum. Rather than merge threads you could have an "old forum" section - with the forum sitting there.
The forum should have multiple admins encase the situation arises again. The sky my fall in one day......

Unfortunately maintaining both the old site and the new is a more costly option. Cost comes down to how many sites you host, how many domains you need to register and then the infrastructure. The old site has a great wealth of knowledge, a Wikipedia of vapes if you will. There is nothing like that anywhere else on the inter webs and I for one would like to see it retained. Let’s be patient, supportive and see where this goes.

It was because we couldn't get fcombustion over to our new host due to stupid internet rules (60 day freeze). We didn't want to wait, so we registered newfuckcombustion and got busy building.

I always found apps for message boards to alter the experience and the UI is always different then the website or desktop version if you will.

There is an app for Xenfro based forums, I just have not tried it yet for if I do I will not ever get anything done
LinkPerhaps someone has already found an app and would like to share? Not sure if the site needs to be enabled? I work in IT, just not familiar with Xenfro
