I've been making 510 extension cables for a bit and the idea struck me for a 'fixed' extension cable that acted as a base or DIY platform

really changes the form factor, feels better to use. feels safer to use (good luck finding a replacement) with the more stout footprint. Helps keep the atty from overheating the mod (mod and batteries dont get hot at all now) - everything should last longer, which is suddenly really important.

Is the only difference between V1 and V2, the size? Since the mod over hangs on the V1, though that doesn't look bad to me, especially with the mod on an angle like that, with the power triggers on the sides of predator and ravage mods...

This makes the splinter look more like a proper mobile desktop beast!

like height wise? they're 23mm tall now - the 510 female connector im using is 18mm tall when it has an atomizer in it and the pin is extended out. you could possibly drop another couple mm maybe but connector itself forces a minimum height. maybe there are lower profile connectors or if you machined something yourself (threaded connector piece and then maybe a metal backplate)

Yes just general shape, more aesthetically pleasing without the overhang - the predator mods in particular looked weird and wouldn't balance quite right.

if you get one of those 18mm whip adapters, you can get very close to a desktop experience with it. Hoping to finish out a wall powered 510 unit to really make it an official desktop - I have a working proof of concept but sourcing boards for them just got way harder.

i’ve been doing small bundles and putting them on entexchange but i haven’t been able to do as much as I wanted. i think the amount of design and changes to make them properly functional would be too much vs some other projects.

- the threading alignment varies mid to mod on their 510 connectors so i need to make the connector on the base able to turn some or the mod will not be oriented in a optimal/functional way

- 510 and nic vaping products are blacklisted. the good mods are discontinued, the parts are harder to find, there isn’t really anywhere to openly advertise or sell the products.

it’s kinda feeling like a dead end to be honest. they work extremely well, i use it every day almost exclusively. but i made it to work with splinter and they’re gone gone. mistvape is gone. stempod might be gone. vapwood is gone, etc

Right before the vape mail ban, I put in a big order for mods and parts, and they never shipped. Finally they got the shipping logistics worked out and were able to send it to me. I recently got stuff unpacked and set up, back into the old designs and reworking somethings to at least make and release what I can. And selling off parts of my collection to fund some new tools and projects.
