And if that's still not clear, take a look at the Revolve 2 manual which has clear details on this, being almost the same as the Tempest stem.

I thought that was one of the available options (while they lasted that is!)? A raw titanium finish?

I thought a heat sensitive coating for the Tempest like an LCD thermometer strip would be cool. So it changes colour as it gets hotter giving a spectrum from cap to mouthpiece! Could even act as yet another temp gauge!

Agreed! It has the advantage of having two arc's cut out of the circular magnetic part that grips the head securely so a stronger magnet isn't needed, and no sharp edges to scratch the Vi housing. I believe it was added for the Tempest specifically (if not it should have been! 😉)

Hope this works... The right hand pic shows the Tempest's glass cup set in the wand from the back. On the left you can see the glass protrudes about 1mm past the red 'ring' surrounding it. That means the Tempest if placed at full depth in the glass cup would be able the deepest it should be...

Wow! Those are exactly the same words my brain surgeon used just before the anaesthetic took effect! 😄 (Luckily he shut up once it finally did take effect on him!)

From my experience using the 'pest and the wand, but have never used any DV's with it... I have the Tempest Wand adapter set to hold the heater on the deeper side of the range suggested by the MadHeaters Tempest instructions on the MH site. With it set like that the topmost part of the head...

That kinda sounds like those screens are being directly heated by the induction? Putting a very hot screen very close to the weed? Maybe steel instead of Ti?

Regards the issue of conduction/convection and taste and chest irritation. As a general rule some people are more sensitive to irritation of the airways caused by different terpenes. It seems this may be more prevalent (from reports of experience, not scientific investigation (that I know of))...

Far as I know, everything in there is steel and titanium except for the o-rings and any reclaim. I'd imagine if you take it apart you ought to be able to get a better idea, though I'd guess the worse may be a matter of scraping off a melted o-ring?

There are still Revolve Upgrade kits (~£160ukp) on the HM site, which would also need a Revolve 2 w/out sleeve (~£80ukp). Alternatively if you have a suitable stem (or glass with a WPA for an 8mm connection as with a DV) you can still get a Tempest head and bowl (~£110ukp). The Revolve upgrade...

Precisely, you can't differentiate something that's one thing. You can differentiate how heat behaves (i.e. how it transfers through a a material and across the junctions between different materials). You also can't use a vape without convection, even if it's a so-called conduction vape. The...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

Heat is heat, it doesn't have types. Conduction, convection and radiation are about transfer of energy, usually expressed as change in temperature, all three are taking place in some ratio. Unless everything is at the same temperature conduction, convection and radiation are constantly...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

If you think about it, if the hot air from the head didn't heat up the bowl, you would be getting much vapour out of it. What people mostly seem to describe as convection and conduction is really about how the heat is distributed. What's called convection relies mostly on the heated air to raise...

If it's hard to dismantle, try using it to warm it up and melt the reclaim a bit, then once it's cool enough not to burn, just gently ease the parts out. Best to have some spare o-rings to hand in case they get damaged doing this. Personally I found the plastic test tube MH sell (and sometimes...

If anyone's looking still, there's also a factory second wood Tempest on the site. Can't tell it it's just the one, or more.

But according to Chaos Theory, it could be that just that little bit extra butane you use tips the whole planetary weather system into total chaos and unpredictability! The vape session to end all vape sessions, literally! And we'll all know who's fault it was! 😬😉

Sadly I'm poorly qualified to say with any accuracy, the Revolve is my main stem experience, so I can mostly just wax lyrical about how impressed I was to get a gob-full of what felt like cold vapour! 😀 Not to mention the endless reviews at Madheaters (and elsewhere) extolling it's virtues, and...

Just my own personal preference, but if I could stretch to the extra cost, I'd get a MadHeaters Revolve2 spiral & mouthpiece and a wooden sleeve, to use as a TA stem. For the size it's got to be one of the best stems around for cooling and the wooden sleeve gives enough insulation to be...
