@vapewithape
Your cleaning method was good and you have it put together properly.
You mentioned that this is your first enail, has it been used at all?
The odor you smell is likely coming off of the new heating coil itself, and will burn off with use.
As @mrbonsai420 notes, I would carb-cap...
How tight/loose is the 20mm heating coil around your bucket?
If you have any space in between, you won't get proper (or efficient) heating.
You can tighten the coil, if needed, with a pair of pliers.
Obviously wait until it cools.
Oh, and pics or it didn't happen!
:)
I'm running my V3 20mm...
Cupboards were almost dry, so time for the ol' re-up:
Burmese Kush, a bit runnier than I like but it really terpy and tastes like grapefruit:

I received my RDK-150 back from Auber yesterday, and my travel set-up is finally functional again!
Thank god, I am no fan of the torch.
There was an issue with the on/off toggle switch.
Auber fixed it for free even though it was slightly out of warranty.
Even installed a more robust toggle...
Thank you very much!
Another barrage newbie questions:
Is there any real difference between the two, or are they two different scales to quantify the same thing?
Temperature is easier to conceptualize.
Is there an advantage to using VW mode vs. TC mode?
Are there different situations...
For me, A.
I haven't tried the h20/iso@250* yet.
If my dab is so good that I forget to q-tip, I will normally crank up the heat to 999* for a bit (giving me coil temperature of ~850*).
@nodrog the stuck inserts that you are experiencing, are they in a Liger V2 or V3?
@SOURCEvapes
I picked up a Source Orb4 Sig kit awhile back and am quite impressed.
It provides dab-like clouds and effects; first "pen" that I have run across that actually does the job.
Initially it was running in W mode.
Then after switching to a different atomizer (I don't recall which...
1: Yes, although I'm not sure if the website is set up with that option.
However, the deciding factor that allows one to dabncap all in one motion, is not the carbcap.
It's the handle.
The Skeleton handle (which comes with the master set) is the handle you want if you desire to "dabncap"...
I'm with Bonsai on this one.
I too have dabbed multiple ounces through my V3s over the last few months.
I have never had any issues with inserts sticking in the bucket.
I always keep an insert in the bucket.
The only time there isn't an insert in my bucket is if I'm switching inserts (wihich I...
Ahhh, that makes sense.
Sadly for me, I typically dab wax (although it is good wax).
The 30 paired with Stormcell would be ideal for powdery/sugary concentrates.
And all other things being equal, not having the hole in the middle (as do the Halos), will make dumping the dab quite a bit easier...
Re: Orb4
The Source Terra 2 with heated ceramic bottom and sides is legit.
Big, thick, smooth clouds @ 30W.
3 big hits of a small dab.
I haven't tried the new Quartz atomizer yet.
Hopefully they have a fair bit of longevity.
:D
Agreed, it's difficult to quantify.
But I'm pretty pragmatic, and I find that I'm using the 20 more than the 30.
I also concur regarding carbcap pairing.
I think that the best cap for the 20 is the Hurricane.
While the 30 mates the best with the Stormcell.
That being said I find myself using...
I do not have the finalized 30mm bucket and heat shroud yet, only the beta version.
Although I will definitely report in when I get my hands on one!
I have two different flat coils: a DNail standard flat and an Auber 12v flat.
The Auber coil is quite a bit thicker and makes better overall...
My CCA Beta background:
I bought the V2 20mm as a normal client, and was somewhat underwhelmed.
After sending in some questions and suggestions, and after a fairly long series of correspondences with Josh of CCA, he invited me to join the Beta team.
Given my initial impression of V2 20mm, I...
Similar temperatures for me:
20mm Sapphire 640*
20mm SiC 660*
20mm Quartz 700*
30mm Sapphire 650*
30mm SiC 670*
30mm Quartz 710*
As Bonsai notes temps vary slightly with concentrate type, dab sizes, coil brand.
Recently I've just been buying zips of wax as the price is nice and haven't had...

I think that I could facilitate that for you guys.
Shoot me a PM.
I really like these little "wax wallets":
Super convenient.
Fits easily in pocket, or wherever.
And they make it very easy to see how much concentrate one is grabbing-for-dabbing!
