The herb is definitely still cooking some. It's easy to understand why: if you touch the bowl of either the Mighty or Crafty after use, it's actually quite hot and the temperature is going down slowly. With the Firefly on the other hand the bowl is cool to the touch almost immediately after use.
Reading over this thread made me think back of an article that Rick Pfrommer wrote a few years back. He was the buyer for Harborside, the largest dispensary in California. In it he explained that it is virtually impossible to remove all butane when making wax and he posited the question: "why...
Curious to hear from other members who like to include cannabis in their yoga explorations.
For me it's so much easier to open up, stretch and breathe after I vaped a little.
In answer to your question about other portables like the Firefly. Yes I have one and on page 36 of the Mighty thread I make a lengthy detailed side by side comparison.
They are apples and oranges, so I have no inclination to bash one and exclusively praise another.
To me though the Firefly is...
Have to agree with you one hundred percent!!
Especially the part about being disappointed with other hand held capes.
Wether it is draw resistance, reliability, ease of use and learning curve this vaporizer hits it out of the park!
Yes it took Storz and Bickel quite a long time to finally come...
This is an interesting and thoughtful question actually and one that I ponder myself..
I do think smoking is more harmful then vaping for sure, just look at an empty bowl and how easy it is to clean compared to the crud from a pipe for example. Also the temperatures are definetely lower then...
The Firefly is quite a bit heavier as well making it more cumbersome as a true portable. The Crafty fits easily in your pocket, is fairly light and far more stealthy though that is not my biggest concern.
While it's true that both the Crafty and the Mighty are manufactured in Germany, they have a very efficient repair and warranty Center right here in the US. It's based in Oakland actually and any needed service is quite fast and efficient.
In fact I was just down there the other day for a tune...
I wouldn't worry that much about it. The cooling unit is 22 bucks. In fact I picked up an extra one for my Crafty. Nice to have on hand in case of a mishap.
It is late indeed and not only did I posted this in the Mighty thread instead of the Crafty, I also posted it it twice and -alas- cannot get it erased... APOLOGIES!!

Comparisons with the Firefly as requested by Hodor.
First off they are so different it's really apples and oranges:
1) Firefly is pure convection, while the Crafty is a combination of conduction and convection. In practical terms that means that whatever you put in the bowl of a Crafty, for...
To elaborate on my previous point: when something is made in Germany it means that the person making it got a decent wage, paid vacation and is not forced to breathe in toxic fumes. It also means in this case that the device is made with German precision.
In China the worker got about ten...
For those of you deciding between the Crafty and the Firefly there are three important words to consider: made in Germany. Yes it actually makes a difference. I bought a Firefly less then two months ago and I'm already talking with the service department. Batteries don't even last for one bowl...
I bought a Firefly probably two weeks before the Crafty and the Mighty came out. And yes I am a Storz and Bickel fan. I've used my Volcano practically daily for well over ten years and not even a hiccup. Just keeps going, COMPLETELY dependable period. That's the primary reason any medical Club...
Has anyone tried to vape with either the Crafty or Mighty on lower temperatures and if so how low?
I know most of us (myself at times included) aim for big clouds and tend to favor higher temps.
Curious about those lower temperatures on this vape though, since I'm thinking that could be rather...
Hi guys!
I just posted my barely used Firefly on Craigslist and got a response from an outfit called vapor catch.com they give you a quote and then you can send your used item to them and get a check.
Just wondering if anyone on this wonderful forum has dealt with these guys directly and what...
I have not outright combusted, yet if I hold the heating button even a tad too long I do find tiny particles of charred black material in my ABV. To me this means those particles were heated too much and it's not the stuff I like to inhale. And like you Secureswede I'm using the device...
The efficiency is indeed amazing! I live in an MJ friendly stare and like variety. Now I can buy small amounts of many different offerings that will go a long way.
If I'd exchange my Firefly for anything it would be the new Crafty by Storz and Bickel. Just cannot see going back from convection to conduction. Try the Indica before you buy it my friend, taste matters!
