Thanks very much. That's anodising, that was 18.02 volts. There's videos on YouTube on how to do it, but be safe if you do it. It can be dangerous.

I'm not sure what the diameter is on the new parts. The new induction sleeve is thicker, so if it's then wider than the old VI unit, then it might look a bit odd, because there would be a step between the two.

I think the new upgrade would be worth it for the thicker sleeve and more reactive discs. I mean, I've battered mine around for a while now, I think it deserves a spruce up anyway.

The click discs are more responsive, meaning less cool down time required before clicking back to rest. The induction layer is thicker so it'll retain heat for longer. I think the indicator housing was supposed to be an easier to disassemble and reassemble layout, but I'm not totally sure on...
