It sounds like he unscrewed it, put some inside and screwed it back together. If the coil that came with his Auber controller is like the one that came with mine it’s a little loose so there’s probably room for some balls in there.

I appreciate the updates they’ve made since the TM’s release and they’ve at least partially addressed a lot of the small issues it’s had, so I can’t see why keeping that screen from being pushed into the heater hasn’t been a higher priority… :disgust:

@mourningbell Thanks for the details! I’m glad you’re getting more use out of it with the new chambers. :) I would still talk to Dan about how to paint it (types of paint, what to seal it with, etc.) to make sure it comes out good and stays that way for a while. Also, if yours was ever unused...

I think that a decent amount of wear was always built into the design…like the Nomad sleeves aren’t really finished until they’re worn, and they can take a lot of wear before they get to a point where I’d be bothered by it…but I do think yours has worn more than most for the reasons we talked...

I’ve been interested in the Okin ever since I got into the Nomad, so it would be great to have a chance to get some version of it! The dust is a bit of a concern, but I guess with your prep method it shouldn’t be? Still, this might be a good opportunity to integrate the filter idea you talked...

I’m assuming you meant ShovelHead there, so unless they’ve changed the design the handle has a little hole near the end that screws into the bowl. If you have a mini screwdriver or anything else atrong enough you can stick it through the hole and get it as tight as you want it. :) The way I do...

If it’s out of warranty, it’s actually pretty easy to repair. The part with the electronics in it is only like $20-30 so it’s a lot better deal than buying a new one. :)
