I've been using a touch of coconut oil on my O rings, it's natural, seems to work fine for me.

Sounds like you need to bleed the lighter before refiling it... here's a helpful vid: I bought one of these to bleed and adjust my lighters...

done it at least 3 times... :rolleyes: as I was clicking the lighter I realized, but too late... I"m pretty sure it wont' light with the cap on, it smothers it, so gas might escape, but I don't think it will ignite, unless somebody wants to prove me wrong on this...
