@Shit Snacks Oh believe me, I know all about that variance... I've had trouble to get my supplier give me the right size. actually just took a set of calipers to the stem I'm using now and actually it's a 19/23! and I use it with a rimmed screen! So the overall depth on that, I guess is 24mm. I...
@Shit Snacks so I just want to confirm ALL splinter Z versions take a 19/22. I straight up had someone convince me they only took a 19/19 even though I own a "Z" myself! Talked my way out of two cooling stem sales because of that if that's the case :rofl:
Hey everyone! Shiney New FC, same Vlad. I'm a glass blower and vaporizer enthusiast. Making things that make people happy is really my jam. I was definitely one of those kids that would take apart the tv remote and wanted to be an astronaut. After realizing that it's more or less impossible for...
Mechanically quartz isn't as strong as boro but that's only because boro is more flexible, and your right under a Bunsen boro can take successive reheats without any visible problem. Also keep in mind that in those laboratory settings they aren't usually heating the boro by itself and it's...
Granted I'm not at all familiar with this particular vape but I think I remember hearing the manufacturer used quartz. I would conjecture it's because it's right next to an aggressive heating element? I mean Pyrex is technically safe up to 950-970°F but because of science repeated reheats cause...
I don't have anything at the moment for the tiny might but if there's enough interest I might consider doing a small batch. quartz, the kind of glass tiny might stems are made of, is expensive as a raw material and more difficult to work with than normal Pyrex. Also it only comes in clear so...
@AcidFlashbang I see what you're saying about how the bowl flairs out after the small part of the taper on the ground part of the joint.
That's because those types of ground glass joints are made by basically heating and crimping down the end of a 22mm pyrex tube forming that nice flared taper...
I've been wicked busy with the holiday season so I haven't had a lot of time to post anything, but i just thought stop in to share some Underdog stems I've been working on!
@Shit Snacks Thanks! I got a chance to try one out last night and they work great too, and yes I can do a taper instead of a bead on the end AND bend it if you'd like!
DM me on Instagram and we can talk price on this and future projects, I'm new to this forum thing and I don't want to step on...
@Shit Snacks Oh that wasn't me, but i'm pretty sure I know who did make your bent stems. Thanks for the advice I've actually been waiting on a bunch of 19/22 GonG joints to arrive for that exact purpose. Thankfully they came in so I actually have a few cooling stems available now!
Oh! That's cool I had no idea WS were so versitile... I may have to invest in one of those eventually.
And they were just octopuses originally but now that you mention it they do look Ood-ish!
I hope these actually post this time I used imgbb this time and tried to follow instructions I found on FC, I'm still new to this forum posting thing.
@Ramahs I have made some dynavap stems in the past and its something I'd definitely like to do more of but I need a dynavap tip to...
These are some UD stems I've made for myself over the years for anyone interested. I apologize in advance, I am
A) unsure of how to share a picture on here
B) terrible at taking pictures in the first place
Aw man, I just got back from 11k+ ft! I was wondering about this while I was there but TSA loves me so I didn't dare bring any vapes or equipment with me even though both ends of my journey were legal.
My guess is that it's actually easier to vape at altitude because of lower pressure=lower...
@flammy I don't have much posted but you can check out my Instagram (@508phineas), I have a couple UD vape stems I've done over the years but unfortunately I don't have a lot of reference pictures. I'm not sure when this is going to drop but I did some custom stems for Underdog a while back that...
@bossman that sounds super doable, do most of the 510 vapes take an 18mm GonG joint? I actually own a splinter z so that might be something to experiment with in the very near future.
@Simple10 what would you like to see for the Huni Badger?
Also as a general shout out, a picture is worth a...
Thanks @flammy and @Verax thats all great info! I got my shop space confirmed yesterday and I'm moving all my equipment there at the end of the month so stay tuned for more things.
@virtualpurple haha I have no moral qualms with making bubblers
