I'm finding anything over say 600 capped and the herb is too dark and charred and the vapour has an unpleasant taste. If I use a faster draw to try to counter it, I just get a charred ring and a lighter centre again.

Dabbing on the vrod & quartz at the same temperature as flower (550) was a complete fail. It just kept going with wispy vapour and the number of hits hurt my throat and chest. 650 was a little better but still wasted some with pooling. 700 seems to work, but with less flavour. More testing...

Carb cap arrived today (thanks @VapeFiend.com) and I managed to ditch work after lunch :) I was surprised how light it is after only owning the shower cap before. Still experimenting with the vrod and flower, but using the cap seems MUCH better to achieve an even roast. I seem to have...

I think it was all the talk of SIC dishes lol I'm not the most serious of dabbers, but just thought I might like to try the new version since it has nicer dabbing surfaces.

I think we may be talking about different sticking. My VROD halves are stuck together and I am unable to get the coil back out with my bare hands

At this moment in time I do NOT see the VROD as an upgrade over the showerhead. I'll keep experimenting, but I think I would have been better off getting separate nail for concentrates and sticking with the showerhead for flower. If I can't get used to it, it'll be going up for sale - if I can...

thanks @Muzz :) I always do 1 hitters and then chuck the avb, so I've never tried multiple pulls, but I can say that the bowl is a bit too hot to handle comfortably with bare fingers immediately after
