I don't know if you just have much more powerful lungs, but your cyclone seems to work better than mine does, mine has a much narrower cone/cyclone, seems slower to start up and seems to get chuggy sooner...ah the minor differences are to be expected. Nice vid :) thanks @Roger D

yeah it performs just fine with a water tool, I just used silicone tubing on the mouthpiece to adapt it, also makes a nice mouthpiece extender for using it dry. It does get hot. Your friend must have run the same load over and over to get it to scorch. :p yuk Have you tried cleaning the chamber...

I had both at one point and felt the walnut felt more solid and tasted better... I still have the walnut handcarved in my arsenal.

I agree, side by side, the 187 is slightly larger/taller than the D020-D, and has a nicer look to the perc, but functionally they both have a similar draw, stack easy, almost no resistance. *edit* the dewar on the D020-D isn't as deeply set in, as my 187. It seems to be more flush with the top...

this thread definitely need some kind of warning label. :lol: since getting those mini-recyclers and the cyclone, my GAS has deflated quite a bit. It also helps that I really have no more space in my glass cabinet, and that is with all my pieces pushed as close together as I feel comfortable...

I think the catch with Kathy's version of the D020 is it's not made as well, and less slits on the down stem. Some complaints that it was a very poor copy. Otherwise, this is just very low quality control glass, lots of imperfections, messy welds, some times small hair line cracks in the glass...
