This I definitely agree with.
If there's no need to leave it on it's best not to, clearly.
Lots of folks use room/space heaters than run all day or all night while they sleep that are far more dangerous.
These PIDs and coil heaters are just re-purposed from industry where they are used in...
I'll be 'that guy' and say bah I've had the same enail (controller and coil) running min 18hrs/day every day for nearly 8yrs now.
I'd never claim it's better for the coil, it's simply better for the convenience of the multiple people in the house. And coils are cheap enough to accept the trade...
I heat my elev8r with a MAPP torch and do a few in a row and the glass adapter gets quite hot even at the bottom joint yet neither of my adapters has cracked from thermal abuse (though I've been a bit wary they might).
But I've never used the flavor disc.
I use a carbon & cotton filter when I'm naughty and combust on occasion.
It works beautifully for that in removing a lot of the nastiness.
But I don't see any need to use it with vaping. Maybe a tuft of cotton but not the carbon.
It's not needed and it completely strips flavor and imparts it's...
Received my BCG today, yay.
Ordered on Dec 4th, shipped on Jan 14th small packet international, delivered Feb 5th.
Hematite with rose gold medium grind plate.
My initial impressions are:
- Very well made, screams quality
- Strong ass magnets are cool as hell
- Sure is purty...
I also have the traditional type propane nozzle and no there is no real benefit other than the self-ignition (my older one didn't have one, I had to use a lighter). The flame is a little tighter but not enough to make much difference IMHO.
This nozzle also turns at the top to control gas flow...
The fire breathing duo that powers my ELEV8Rs.
MAPP gas on the right with Mr Torch nozzle and base. (FAST heating lol)
Blazer Big Buddy on the left.
My 16mm coil came in but was the wrong damn pinout... ugh... DHgate for ya ;)
My Sublimator also runs daily but doesn't get near the use it once...
I've been wanting one of those large SOL straight fabs for some time so I took a punt and grabbed one of the 'milky purple' ones for $170AU shipped which is definitely the top end of the range I'd pay for china glass.
Yeah, I've got also got a coil on the way from DHGate to try with the elev8r.
I also grabbed one of those dual u shaped glass adapters so I can run dual elev8rs, one heated by coil, the other by torch... that should be some fun. :D
I have a Flowerpot showerhead, a Sublimator Apollo and 2x ELEV8Rs currently on the coffee table in front of me. The FP never gets turned on, never. It's going to be sold when I can get off my arse and list it. You're not in Australia, are ya? ;)
It's only an upgrade if you're interested in...
Holee shite people really are sleeping on this vape as I was, for quite a number of years.
My once beloved and worshipped Sub still hasn't be powered on since I got this bad boy.
I had plans to pre-order the new Sub Orion as soon as they opened that up but now I think I'll pass.
My butane use...
My Sublimator hasn't been turned on since I got the ELEV8R.
I wouldn't have believed it. It's the longest it's ever been off in the 5+yrs I've owned it.
Both my wife and I reaching for the LV8 every time now. She likes it so much I ordered a second one as both a back up and so she can have her...
Man, you ain't lyin'.
I was a active member of FC until I finally got a Sublimator (5yrs ago or so) then, shortly after, a Mighty and both those really satisfied me and cured my VAS. The Sub is still the heaviest hitting desktop I've ever used. I have a Flowerpot Showerhead that only plays back...
The very point of the Bates & Worm design, and the genius of it, is that the vapor travels through little to no water while still being cooled by the water contacting the pump's tubing.
This is how this design minimizes flavor & actives loss better than anything else out there.
Sadly, if the...
