Using a woodscents log (the only one designed to be used with a dynavap tip and stem AFAIK), you don’t use the cap. It basically turns the dynavap into a stem for a log vape, and log vapes provide convection vapor. A dynavap used in the usual way produces hybrid, but conduction-heavy, vapor...
If you don’t already know about it, the podcast “Great Moments in Weed History” tells some great stories, in an entertaining way (less focused on the ancient history, but still fun). Here’s an example:

I just ordered this little thing that I hope will address the one thing I‘m not loving about my splinter: how fat the mouth end of the glass tubes is. I prefer a smaller mouthpiece...
I think it’s widely known that the dimpled “hula” stems sold as dynavap accessories work with the POTV One. They also work with the glass WPA attachment for the Xmax V3 Pro.
Thanks! I‘m having one made in olive wood and glass by Alan, but I already have the Ed’s stem, filled with 6mm glass balls, so might as well give it a go while I wait. (I also filled one of the DDave titanium stems with a combination of 3mm and 6mm glass balls, topped with a dynavap “fat...
My new V2 is out for delivery. Thanks for the heads up, @4everpushingaboulder--I’m not on Instagram and would’ve missed this deal if you hadn’t posted.
Coming to you splinter experts one more time: where do you buy mods online? I tried to buy from a site called “vaporfi” and it seemed really sketchy. (Ended up not going thru with purchase after my credit card company flagged the transaction.) I want to get a single or dual 18650 mod, will use...
Thanks @Shit Snacks, I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Also, thanks for your post about 508phineas, just got one of his vigreaux stems in cobalt, it’s a beaut.
@Shit Snacks, if you don’t mind explaining, what would be the concern with using a 19/22 in a splinter V2? It doesn’t seem to be about bottoming out in the joint…is it about the taper of the splinter’s lining, or the glass cracking, or what? Thanks
Yes, that’s what it’s designed to do. It just slips into the midsection, not held in place by o-rings or anything, so you can slip the vapman off to clear if you want
