The silicone sleeve is on the gong to keep the glass cool to the touch. This is how it comes now from epic vape and yes, you can buy them separately. If you decide to buy another gong, I would also take a look at Joda Glassworks in the glass forum. Lots of happy customers.... Me included.

Too late for me. I dropped my short one and broke it within a few days of getting my Air and it apparently can't be replaced (at least not right now). If anyone prefers the longer ones and wants to sell or trade their shorty, send me a PM.

I can confirm. I ordered extra aroma rubes and had asked for the shorter ones in the comments section of my order. When I got the longer ones, I followed up with an email and they told me that the shorter ones were not available to purchase.
