HI or Nano

Hi all,

I signed up for the HI waiting list a little under a year ago because I heard wonderful things about it and log vapes in general. It didn't take long until I got sick of waiting and I got a nano which I love. I just realized that my turn is coming up soon on the Heat Island.

I am totally satisfied with my nano but I wanted to see everyone's opinion on the HI relative to the e nano. Is there any reason that I might want to replace or supplement my nano with an HI? It looks like they function very similar except the nano has a temp control, where the the HI would need a VVPS to function the same. Wanted to get some opinions.

I definitely prefer my HI to the Nano I had.

Cosmetically speaking, the wooden base really sets it apart, IMO. The Nano has the Stando, but... meh. I'm not really into it. I also never cared much for the hole drilled in the front to see a lightbulb. I'm so picky that I don't even like the cord. Can't get much more subjective than that last paragrah... :D

The flavor the glass "core" (heater cover) HI can give is, IMO, just a bit tastier.

I also prefer the temp control of a Voltage Keeper instead of the dial on the Nano. I find the Voltage Keeper to give me a more exact and consistent result. Plus they look really cool. :brow:

I have found the HI GonGs to be of significantly higher quality, FWIW.

I loved my Nano while I had it, and wouldn't mind owning one again, but my HI means more to me. I love it like no other. It rules me.

If you got the coinage, I can see no reason not to get a HI when your names comes up. You waited this long, so why not check it out and join the club? Always good to have a backup.

I'd have to agree about the Voltage Keeper control being a little better. To me, it really does come down to the aesthetics of each product. They both perform well, it's just the little differences. My HI power cord will swivel in the socket and the Nano (I have an old model) is hardwired and just slightly harder to handle. With the HI stems, you control how far away the flowers are from the heater. The Nano has a ridge that sets the distance for you and is a little more hands free. The HI is a good addition to your arsenal provided you have the means to purchase one and isn't straining the pocketbook. Heat up times are similar and I prefer the HI's airflow. Please let me say that these differences are very small but just my observations. I will say that if you do get the HI, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The nano gongs and stems have the adjust a screen that allows you to determine the distance from the heater. I say save your money for something else. Maybe some glass?ive had both and enano rules for me.

Only have the e-nano and am pleased with it. Idk if I would get the HI as well. Maybe a different style vape other than a log.

Thanks for the opinions guys. The cost really isn't a problem, so I guess I will probably go ahead and get an HI just to try it head to head with the nano. It seems there are enough differences to warrant a try. I would probably feel different if I could order it at any time but the very long waiting list is definitely putting the pressure on me. It's an extravagance for sure because it's not really filling a niche but I have to see what the buzz is about.

Lol I can understand the pressure of the waiting list!!! I've wondered what is the diff between the toasty top and the heat island? If the toasty top was "better" and available I'd get that because of the cool shape.

The HI reaches operating temperature quicker..The two HI's I own run hotter on standard 12v than my TT units.The TT requires its stand when You place it down.the HI on the other hand can be placed on any flat surface.The TT is a little heavier.The TT requires an angled plug adapter.

My :2c: I would go with the efficiency and simple design of the HI over TT.that is the verdict also from Alan the maker of the HI.

I have never tried the 110V Enano.

The HI & TT come from the golden age of log vaporizers and use the same 12V heater as the 'Eterra' the first log vaporizer.Simple & safe 12V operation and can be repaired at home by someone with basic soldering knowledge.
If you decide on the aesthetics of the TT, have the latest Hi-core installed.

I love my TT's but if I had to pick i would take the HI or enquire about Alans other unit in development the GTV.

Very informative response thanks for that, I see the benefit in the HI over TT. I would then maybe get a HI since your on the waiting list and it could be your back up log vape if anyting lol.

You will end up knocking over your vape, at least a couple of times, and each of those times, you risk shattering the glass core. So if you do opt for the HI, get extras, and be prepared to swap so you don't go for a couple weeks without a vape if it breaks.
