FYI, 'Our very own' CentiZen ships from Canada but charges in US dollars. There is no savings there. It's also misleading as there's no indication of this sneakiness until you get to payment.
Got a replacement copper bowl with tubes attached from @Mojo for a worn walnut basic. Tried fitting it to Vapman body, but last of 3 tubes to attach was always too short for my scorched & cracked Vapman body. Then it dawned upon me,
Theory is that the walnut body had slightly stretched with...
@vapman, @Mojo,
One of the three inlet tubes has come off the crucible. Can I reset it with a centre punch or anything else I can do besides sending it back for repair? Could you share a pic of your flaring/setting tool?
Yeah, everything gets hotter with sleeve except average temps of heater & some parts of oven. The coil/heater runs lighter duty, thus lower average temps.
This is the sleeve temp paradox
Yeah, while the sleeve insulates & increases temps in some areas, it also reduces the load/duty cycle of heater, which lowers the average temps of heater and some parts of oven.
It's neither good or bad, just depends if you lean more on conduction vs. convection
It's easier to get pins aligned if the filter screen is free to move a touch on wooden section.
But yeah, would need a jig, or a lot of luck, to get pins right with tight fitting screen.
Nice stem!
I use one long pin, straight thru. Drilled the pin's hole first, then if it's off or crooked, could use those holes instead to mount filter screen.
Never turned wood before, already learned a lot.
