Yeah, just got another batch of stems & some are bigger than others.
No Kidding! All 6 of my MP stems are .003"-.004" Out Of Round, with O.D. Varying by .007". But got one all glass 70mm gem that's actually round!
Yep, saving the wide steps for later
Maybe try it with MP stem to rule out...
Arizer lists the Air stems for both AA & Solo but the Solo stems are listed only for Solo.
My guess is that they're aware of the issue and have already reduced their stem diameters to reduce stretch factor, here's different diameter measures,
- .574" original 70mm all glass stem,
- .573"...
Sorry OF, I follow the theory but mostly reject it in favor of the preheated air theory. Try measuring the change in rate of temp increase with stem loaded vs. empty. Bet it heats much quicker empty.
Works great & gives options with USB batt pack for backcountry use. Already put away the factory charger!
-Marketing, Packaging, Instructions & Controls Interface are all in Ploom's favor
-Pax preheats in 30sec while it takes AA 10sec just to turn heater on, then another minute and a half to...
Tuff Questions Airmaster One. While the AA hes a broad range of operation, there may exist a narrower band where performance is optimized; a sort of Goldilocks zone or PowerBand where thick vapor actually drags outlet temps down. It's a matter of matching heat level, airflow and stem pack...
Yeah, good eye; it's a camera shy Pax!
It's a homemade piece that centres on top cover. There's a gap between the stem and its sleeve, where all the inlet air gets directed/preheated thru. More details & pic at bottom of page 103.
That's a bad case of VAS, but you're with the right support group!!
Got the New & Improved short stem from Arizer.com today,
Seems Arizer has been paying attention here; the MP hole is bigger & the Houdini washer's hole has been hogged out too. The new stem's diameter is a touch smaller than...
It's a little bit involved & requires a lathe to make the sleeve and enlarge the factory heater cover's top hole. Aside stealth, it's about recovering waste heat to help preheat inlet air, hoping to extend battery life & reduce heater duty cycle.
A small Advil pill container keeps the shortest stem from breaking & stinking. It's freakin cold here now so the Air stays in my warmest pocket to prolong battery life when outdoors.
Noticed Arizer's website mentioned they'd be offering more Air accessories & now their lethal SS stir tool/dagger is available.
C'mon Arizer, gimme an option to buy a replacement short stem!
Wrote to Arizer a few days back, requesting that they offer the short stem, cause performance is better IMO. Got a prompt reply that they consider the suggestion, Can't hurt to have more FC members request directly with Arizer…
