I've got a bubbler with a conical bowl. It works well with the silicone stems and is satisfying to use. I don't think I need anything more complicated than that.
Remember that you will also need a socket to plug your power supply into. If you don't like soldering, there is a "matching" socket that has screw terminals also. The wires coming from the socket are then screwed into that plug that I linked to. Otherwise you will need to cut the wires from the...
I think the new forum doesn't look as good as the current one. There's more "chrome", making simple things more visually complex than necessary. It's got that Fisher Price look about it that unfortunately seems to be popular these days. I particularly don't like the area where the username is...
Unfortunately, you can't calculate it. I made up a plug and socket with something like this

Then you can put the voltmeter's probes onto the screw terminals while it is plugged into the vape.
My girlfriend has some noise-cancelling headphones which I think are quite amazing. They're fun to have on even when there's no music playing! The disadvantage of these is that they need batteries.
I hope the current ISO standard yyyy-mm-dd date format will be used with the new forum. It seem like a small thing, but it's something I've always liked about this forum (it's a bit of an obsession of mine). The "Feb 22, 2012" in the new forum doesn't look as clean as the current format.
You'll probably find that the so-called 12V FV supply is actually delivering a substantially higher voltage (possibly close to 14V), whereas the VV supplies max out just above 12V.
No I'm not an engineer, I'm terrible at maths! My background is in computer science, but I do tinker around with electronic circuits, etc. I'm in the process of putting together a power supply to use with log vapes. I'll post it in the forum once I'm satisfied with it.
It's hot but I don't think it's that hot. ABV is very dark brown, occasionally almost black, but I've never combusted. The PD has developed its "famous" rattle, but not too bad. I can see a little bit down the inside of the bore hole and there's no evidence of charring whatsoever. Taste is as...
Hey Dave, I spoke to my EE friend and he seems to think that whoever told you that switching power supplies are no good has fed you a crock, maybe to cover up a defective batch? Or maybe they just didn't know what they were talking about? Switchmode power supplies have a reputation of being able...
I've removed the circlip arrangement and screen from my PD stems and replaced them with some finer screen. I cut the screen to a size much larger than the originals, and jammed it into the steel tip to form a thimble shape, then took it out and pushed it down from the mouth end with a skewer. It...
Sorry if I missed something, but what is it exactly about the HI that makes it unsuitable for group use? In what way is it not easy to use? What is it about the TT that it has more in common with a cig/spliff than the HI? Is this just about the stems that come with the unit or are you talking...
It's good enough. If 12V is its highest voltage, then you'll probably want it turned up to max, so you might not get much use out of its variable capabilities. Try it and see how you like it.
