Heya ZC sorry I didn't notice the request for an ID on the bubbler in the video until just now. It's a DD Sherpa piece that I picked up here in the classifieds a couple years back IIRC.
I believe it's this one here: http://www.pgwgallery.com/products/dd-sherpa-rig
I've got some suggested improvements to the body when you make it.. if you're interested.
Between you, Madcap and myself I think you'll be up and running again in no time!
Please contact Underdogette so she can help you get taken care of.
Something isn't right, I suspect you've got a loose connection somewhere or a prematurely aging heating element. :2c:
I think cedar would be fine (I've used it quite a few times) as long as it's dry enough. It'll char faster from the heat than denser woods but since you have a bunch you can just replace it whenever needed.
Any piece of (non-treated) wood you can bore a 1" hole in will work for a simple body and get you back up and running. If you need a new resistor and/or power plug those are available and cheap. Hell I'd be happy to send you those for the cost of shipping just to get you back in action.
If you want to try an Underdog out before you buy we could send you one of our community loaners for a week or two? Just ship it back (or on to the next member who needs it) when you're done?
Yes if you can get one over the tube and down to the groove and have it still be tight enough it should work just fine other than being a little kludgy. :2c:
Alright Dogs all outstanding orders are now shipped and we're clearing out of the office for a couple hours, be back later.
Excellent, happy to be of service!
You'd probably have to contact Underdogette and have us invoice you manually instead of using the website checkout but otherwise we should be able to do that just fine.
They both have their advantages so it comes down to personal preference. We'll be pulling the Standard out of production after the holidays so I can rework the design so they won't be available much longer.
You can read way more info that you probably want on the various cores and models here...
I think that ones just a piece of regular old Cherry actually..
Weird, I'm guessing the heating element in your mini is just out of spec on the cool side. I'll have Underdogette message you about a replacement. A cracked body won't have any effect on the performance so no worries there.
RE...
Huh that's weird, I haven't ever been able to push a ring down with a stem unless it was with a significant amount of force (like 10-15lbs).. sounds like yours are moving easier than that?
No reason you couldn't try and use a stem like you're describing but like ZC pointed out below a certain...
Hey Dogs, happy Monday hope you all had a good weekend.
We'll be kicking off the Holiday Sale tomorrow morning so it's a rush around here to get all the final preparations in place. :borg:
Thought about it a little but never spent much time going down that path since I suspect for low...
Your plan seems to be the go-to for people traveling with their Dogs. New (never used) stem or have on delivered to your destination, pack the Dog with an aroma cup and put in your checked luggage and don't try and hide it. Pack it with your toiletries.
The only other thing I can suggest is...
Neat, thanks for the additional info on the carbon.
Generally speaking we don't recommend people push their voltage as high as you are but I suspect you might have a cool running Dog, if that's the case pushing the envelope a bit more shouldn't hurt. I'd say in your case you might try...
Cool mod with the activated charcoal.. does it affect the draw resistance much?
What voltage are you running? If you're not getting as big a clouds as you were hoping for you might try bumping the voltage a little more and see if that helps.
Anywho, welcome to The Pack!:2c:
Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving yesterday, we took a whole day off of work but are back in action today and pushing hard to have everything done in time for the Holiday Sale kickoff on the 1st.
We also got an awesome, thoughtful gift in the mail from some of our FC family so thank you all...
