Glad to hear you're enjoying your EVO.
Re the whistle - and with the caveat that there have been engineering changes to the EVO since release which may supercede the following info - there is a diameter tolerance range of the center orifice due to precision limitations in the glass...
I've had the same problem with my Hydrafoot and Hydraline, too. I have a lube but don't like to use it because I don't want any to transfer to the EVO joint. I've ended up just using the foot for shelf storage of an HT, most of the time I use one of those stands made/sold by another member...
Yea, I agree - hadn't noticed that. Almost a clearance sale, isn't it? Although, the SSFG and Evolver pieces "from the vault" have been fairly popular and sturdy. But still . . .
My experience has been like most of those posting the last few days. My ABV on average is medium brown with the EVO at 2pm. My OG delivers dark ABV. But the taste and comfort is noticeably superior in the EVO, and the extraction is complete. If I turn my EVO up and hit it harder, I can get...
Thx for sharing Vapefiend's video review, certainly one the best I've seen. I noticed that in it they used HT's no longer avail from VXL here, and that Vapefiend's sales web page shows HT's to the left that he is not actually offering. Among those listed for sale, my personal choice would be...
Since the chiller sits directly on the EVO joint, I presume that there is no glass shock because the joints are both boro. If the glass nail is boro too, it might work. The quartz nail, I haven't any idea. This would be a good question to ask VXL.
A while back @OrdinaryJoe posted that he had purchased the following bubbler from DHgate. A friend asked me to buy it for him, figuring $36 was a decent bet.

Well, the piece was received last week and my...
I'm looking at a USPS shipping label that shows "Vape-X" as the shipper, with the PA address. I wouldn't rely on this as indicative of what VXL does now, though - I can't find a date on it.
Your concern was raised quite a while ago, and VXL did change its shipping procedure. But I suspect...
I use a SSFG Hydraline atop the HT 2.0. I really like in-line percs, done right they're very smooth and have great diffusion (check the HL vid). The HL accomodates ice. Sometimes I use ice only, sometimes just water (like your setup), sometimes both (the slowly melting ice keeps the water...
Indeed, kudos!
Maybe we haven't seen monkey man so much on the old haunts like here at fc because he's movin' and shakin' with the big money boys, going long for the future. Good luck, SM55!
Good to know. Gives me a little chuckle . . . when VXL launched the first Cloud, there was a lot of hoopla about the top-line glass blowers they were using. Shortly later they announced an in-house line of glass; I got one of the first, a circ, which IMO was clearly not up to the Evolver and...
Great review of the new chiller. I'm really tempted, but budget-constrained and have been sorta holding out hopes for the new incycler coming available again. So many options, so little time/money . . .
Welcome - good to have you on board! :)
Great setup (I use a Hydraline with ice atop my HF 2.0). The VXL chiller is fairly new and there have been only a few comments about it here. The VXL piece is more expensive than the 7th Floor vapor tamer; comparison? How long does the cold last?
I'm not surprised that the EVO and then the Herbie are the first responses. :)
If you have a short length of medical/food grade tubing, and you keep it clean or periodically replace it, probably not much effect unless you're one of the lucky folks with sensitive senses plus really good quality...
Yea, @stickstones - and @Stu and @max and many others of us here - have known VXL before it was even officially VXL. Most of us have/had an OG and/or a Plus, as well as an EVO. I can assure you that the collective knowledge of VXL and the Cloud here at FC far surpasses that of anywhere else...
Of course, there are no guarantees that another problem won't arise; it happens. That said, fwiw I've had 4 Clouds, going back to the original beta. I stupidly broke that first unit. Aside from that, not a single problem since (still have all 3 working fine). VXL has a very good customer...
Fwiw I have 2 posts in the previous Cloud threads taking a range of IR readings. As @Roth posted, it's not easy. (I also took readings on the outer shell; those are no longer applicable with the redesigned EVO.)
Frankly, I don't think the data is particularly relevant. The physics are...
