The only rubber I've seen is the white insert at the bottom for routing the wires and holding the bottom tap. It shouldn't get very hot during normal use and I haven't noticed any degradation from the ISO exposure. I believe the rebuild kits come with copious replacements as well.
I've "burned off" what I could (vaping, not wasting!) then soak mine in warmed ISO overnight.
Afterwards, I tap all the ISO out I can and gently heat them (at 3.7v) just enough I can hear the ISO spitting and wait until it stops. NOTE: the "spitting" is real, messy and sticky - I direct it...
What's the life span been on the AC coils so far?
One dead dual coil so far, but another still going strong, the single coils work consistently (but seems to retain old taste unless I clean every so often), and I've ridden the 3.7v 1701s and they keep taking more! (I do let off a bit before my...
@Tanz - I've found that "other" inserts other than the bowl that came with it and my enail DO have a slight bit of wiggle! Putting my PVHS Solo 14" gong in wiggles the top (bowl portion) back and forth maybe .25mm? Very slight and back and forth directly from the mouthpiece. Doesn't seem to...
Definitely! And thank you for your blog focus - the actual experiences of using the products don't come through in the documentation (technically-detailed as they are), and just walking/talking folks through their first steps will help many of those we've found flustered in this thread!
Solo Down! :zombie: :rip:
After two-and-a-half years, my original M1A3 (what a tank!) is no longer taking enough charge to get to temp for a single stem. This one has not been coddled in any way, and in fact, I'd say my usage pattern is the banner child for earning glares from OF. I would...
I'm good with a long while on Level 3. After a couple years now with the Solo, I've noticed that taking my time at the lower level always gets me to the same destination with style. And Good Taste!
Bumping it up is good for showing a cloud, but at the expense of good taste. And Style! (I...
Hmmm... maybe just a slight leak in the GONG seal between the EVO and the waterpiece? Clean the ground surfaces with ISO to get 'em squeaky clean. If there's still a bit of a leak, at least you know those surfaces are now clean and sanitary.
That, and there's a product I found at LHS that was...
Imagine, if you will, two chambers seperated by water. You change the pressure in one chamber, a chamber not only in sight and bubbly sound, but one with a mouthpiece, the other chamber sealed expcet through your perc. The pressures need to journey to equalize and do so through the water...
I got both the tree and circ GravLabs hydratubes from one of the last Massdrops they carried. I can compare them to the Swagger side circ.
For me, there's little actual difference between the GravLabs tree and circ, other than the can is a bit higher on the tree (at least on mine) which...
I'm still struggling a bit to get the seals correct on the top for my Nibbler XL, but it definitely aids in showing visually what's going on with the production, just like the OG Nibbler was for the essential oil cartridges. (How long should I trust oil in those for, anyway? I have a few that...
I notice that the glass nails WILL melt if you torch them a tad too long ;)
But if you're fairly careful and keep the glow to a minimum it doesn't seem to be an issue...
You can likely torch the living shit out of the quartz nails since their melting point is so much higher. A propane torch...
I love the elastic band at the top of the Q, like a nod/facepalm to those branding irons they call clouds :) Still a nice reminder there's hot stuff up top!
You'll have me digging around for more parts this evening :science:
