The S-2 is great but I find it uses up material a lot faster than the stock 3.2v. But when you want insta-clouds, the S-2 can't be beat. I could probably ratchet it down and sip the S-2, but it's hard to resist clouds on tap like it gives. I hope they keep the 3.2v option because I think there...

Bvapst, I don't believe the threads should be black since they are not anodized, so I wouldn't worry about yours being unusual. Since we're on the topic, here's an update on my "friction-fit" FlashVape: When I first modified the FV by filing the threads, I thought I had changed it from a...

I did clean my threads regularly as that was an obvious problem, but I didn't break out the grease because I didn't realize it was necessary. The 3x thread sounds much better as far as ease of use and prevention of cross-threading, but the greasing and cleaning will still be necessary due to the...

The passive aggressive coward is back! I don't use my real name for an obvious reason - same as most everyone else here. btw, passive aggressive is usually better than aggressive aggressive, as that can lead to more than just bruised feelings, which is often not good for this world. And passive...

I meant my statement "May is the truth" was awkward.

You're right - that was an awkward way of saying it. Since it is an OR condition however, one side of the "may or may not" has to be true. I should have said "are or are not" to get super-logical, but I think you get my drift. Honestly I don't read the forum often enough to have any...

You don't! (but I'm not) My feeling is that people here are on the up and up, but you have to be realistic about how things may be perceived. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with getting freebies, but open disclosure would be more transparent, like when analysts give stock picks. Maybe...

"May" is the truth - sorry you find it offensive. It also may not apply to anyone here. How do I know?

Not saying that anyone who gets a unit for beta testing will cover up or lie when their is a real issue. However, the reason Consumer Reports is valued is because they take no compensation from the companies they review. Also, Amazon Vine reviewers are commonly ridiculed because they seem so...

I don't think there is a conspiracy here to cover anything up. But if I rolled over and agreed that there is no problem when I believe there is one, I would be blowing smoke up the collective arse. The FV is great but it is no disservice to point out future improvements to the design. That's...

btw, the threads are soft enough that they flatten out easily when filing. This helps with the metal-to-metal contact. I used a flat file for the male threads and a small round file for the female threads. Be like a good dentist fitting a crown and test the fit repeatedly.

That's a good way to do it JKA, but again i feel the problem is not with cross-threading but the fact that the threads are non-anodized (for a good reason) which leads to the debris in the threads issue.

I never felt my unit was degrading from stock in terms of electron flow, although if that were the case then that is another problem with the non-anodized threads constantly shedding metal. And I agree if it is better now as it "seems" to be, then that is probably due to increased...

I only thought it was junk after it became useless to me last night - at that point it literally was useless junk. Besides this problem, I love the FV, and before I modified it to friction-fit I was about ready to order another! Also, I understand the dangers of cross-threading, but this is...

I did - I used olive oil since I don't have any "dielectric grease" handy. It's hopelessly mangled at this point. I am saying it is an engineering problem considering the product is being sent to consumers who don't know the ins and outs and potential pitfalls of non-anodized conducting threads...

What you say is true I am sure, but is not a practical engineering solution if the product turns into junk in less than a month. Unlike a flashlight this thing is getting unscrewed and re-screwed after every session to replace the battery - that's a lot of wear and tear in this vulnerable area...

Not sure I really cross-threaded it, or if the crud built up and cut itself to ribbons. Probably actually the latter as it did not appear crooked/misaligned. Regardless, thumbs down on this particular screw mechanism for someone not used to treating a vape like an industrial arts project. It...
