I am now getting better results with a slightly less-than-full bowl, not packed.
I had an unusual experience lately that changed my FF2 habits.
I have two units. I had been running both at High with temp boost between 5-7%. I was fairly satisfied with the results, but never amazed. A few...
I have both a Ti and an SS and I actually just ordered another SS (10% off :)). I prefer the feel of the SS - the weight, the smoother threading of the back end... Threading the back end onto the Ti feels "gritty" compared to the SS.
So far I have had no real issues with either of my Hoppers...
I wholeheartedly second this recommendation. I have a tan one for my Ti and a black one for my SS (otherwise it can be hard to tell the two Hoppers apart). The Hoppers fit perfectly and the sleeves offer enough protection to ease my mind. Obviously for greater protection some may want a hard...
The FF1 batteries are not identical to the FF2 batteries, the latter having a small round "lip" on one end to facilitate removal from the device. You can use them interchangeably, but you may find it difficult to remove the FF1 batteries from the FF2 (no "lip" to grab). In fact I have often...
I still keep my T1 in my travel case, along with the PA and the wall wart (I've had to replace the wall wart as the cord became frayed after long term use). It is my "backup" vape for traveling, in case my Grasshopper craps out. It is "sterile" in so much as I have disassembled it, cleaned it...
It's been mentioned before in this thread, but there have been two different types of pods sold for the Focus Pro. The original pods looked like two screen "baskets" that kind of screwed together with a metal ring. The second pods look like "barrels" with screw-on lids...
My situational requirements are the same as yours. The FF2 is a very stealthy vape, but the weak spot in its stealth is the possibility of combustion. If the load combusts you immediately lose most of the stealth. It has happened to me several times. Not only will it produce odor at the time it...
Probably not relevant since you also described battery problems in your post, but one of my FF2 units sometimes fails to activate when I touch both buttons. If I moisten my thumb and index finger slightly with saliva it will activate on the next try.
Thanks for your comment.
I have attempted a thorough cleaning of the bowl. I soaked a cotton ball with ISO, laid it on a hard surface, and placed the FF2 bowl over it, face down (to avoid getting too much ISO in the chamber below the bowl). I applied light downward pressure on the bottom of the...
For me the FF2 is a modest improvement over the FF1 when it comes to getting a single large hit on the first draw (which is my desired usage). It achieves that goal more often than my FF1s, but it is still very technique driven. Also it creates more "hot spots" with charring/blackening of the...
I've said before that to me the FF2 is a modest improvement over the FF1 when it comes to vapor production. My goal for any portable vape is to get a single hit of thick vapor as quickly as possible. My FF2 comes closer to achieving that goal than my FF1s.
Lately I've been able to nail down the...
I think the "March 2016" on the invoice just represents the original estimated ship date. I also pre-ordered in Jan. 2016 and my invoice says "March 2016" on it, but that was the original estimated ship date on my pre-order.
I also observed that the one battery that I ordered which did not...
My Focus Pro came with a Samsung INR18650-32E 3200mAh battery.
It's funny that their website has conflicting info on the included battery:
The picture on the site is of the 3200mAh Samsung.
I noticed that the 3200mAh Samsung battery is not readily available (not on Amazon or eBay).
It was...
The resin that is generated during vaping is a liquid, albeit a very viscous one. ISO is also a liquid, and far less viscous than the resin. During an ISO soak of the front end, wouldn't the ISO reach every part of the front end that the resin could possibly reach during vaping?
EDIT: I thought...
I don't think I can get the FF2 as clean as the T1, simply because I can't disassemble it and soak the parts in ISO. I feel pretty good about the Grasshopper though. I brought it with me the last time I flew, but that was between CA and CO, so between legal states.
The vapor from the...
I used and enjoyed my Thermovape T1 for a long time. It was my first portable vape purchase after the MFLB. I still take it with me when I travel because of how easy it is to get 100% "legally" clean (take it apart, soak it in ISO and I'm good to fly without any concerns).
The Grasshopper is...
I tried the new pod again, same technique except I took a much longer draw. Pretty much the same result...very little visible vapor.
For me the difference between the old pod and the new pod is night and day. I have no problem getting a nice cloud with the old pod.
I'm still baffled...
I loaded it to the top, loosely, and screwed the cap on. I seriously doubt that it was any less full, or any more loosely packed than the old style pod I've been using. With the old style pod I basically scoop up as much as I can with each half of the pod and then screw it together. That...
I received the two "newer style" dry material pods from PIU but they did not come in a capped plastic sleeve.
My Focus Pro came packed in the black foam. My vape did not smell, but the foam sure does!
I found it interesting that the new Dry Material Pods for the Focus look almost identical...
I have both, and agree with what @Mr. Me2 posted.
I would just add, from a personal perspective, that I would give up my FF2 for a Grasshopper any day. For me, the ideal portable vape is fast and odor free. I want to take one good-sized hit and put it away. Nothing I've used even comes close to...
