    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Thanks for all your replies to my musings about selling the Grasshopper. I've decided definitely not to. I do really enjoy the Vapcaps, the ritual, the reliability, and the flavour, but for out and about the Grasshopper is better for me. In some ways I prefer the Vapcap M, because if I lose it...

    Dynavap VapCap

I got hemp fiber in an order from Dynavap less than a month ago, and it doesn't really have any smell to it. Just stuck my nose in the bag it came in, inhaled deep, and didn't really get anything. I haven't used it in my vapcap yet (waiting on an Omni XL), so I can't comment on how it'll do when...

What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

Yep, that was about the case, worked well, but took ages. It was interesting, I did this in the bath, and because of the very high humidity in the room water droplets formed and evaporated on the cap as I was heating, which probably slowed things down a bit further. I was using a VapCap M, and...

    Dynavap VapCap

Has anyone tried coupling the new Ti condenser of the Omni with the carbon fiber stem / body yet? I suppose this would create the lightest possible VapCap (using stock DynaVap parts). I'd be curious to see what it looked like, too. Also, DynaVap haven't had much variety in their shop for stems...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I'm tempted to sell my Grasshopper. I got a VapCap recently and the GH hasn't seen much action since. So, anyone want to convince me to keep it? I'm in two minds about it. I do love it, and it has served me very well, but I'm not sure whether it can really do anything the vapcap can't, and I do...

What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

Cool, I didn't think of holding a cap above the flame to avoid soot. I have some pure beeswax candles, I'll have to try heating the vapcap with one of those :)

    Dynavap VapCap

Basic question, but how do you go about getting reclaim? Is it a case of (dry) scrubbing the condensor with a pipe cleaner and collecting what is stuck to it? Or soaking / cleaning it with iso, and waiting for that to evaporate?

What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

I've been mostly using a True Utility single flame butane lighter with my M, which I like because it's simple and the stainless steel matches the aesthetic of the M. However my thumb gets uncomfortably hot after about 10 - 15 seconds of heating, so I'm considering a different model. Any...

    Dynavap VapCap

Thanks for the replies on the role of the cap, I wasn't meaning to demean its simplicity (that's something I love about the vapcap, particularly coming from the Grasshopper), just wanted to check that I understood exactly what each part does correctly. @WakeAndVape I've really enjoyed your...

    Dynavap VapCap

Does anyone know if the cap has changed at all since DynaVap started? I have an OG and I wonder whether the cap is precisely the same as the one on my new Omni? Am I correct that the cap doesn't really "do" much, more-or-less just be a temperature sensor and way to ensure no flame gets into the...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

From reports here and on reddit it certainly seems like the newer GHs are getting a lot more reliable, yes. RMA means a warranty return, yeah. It's a common term, though actually I can't say I can think what it stands for. There don't seem to be any reliability differences between the SS and...

    Dynavap VapCap

Don't worry @VisiblyVaped, you'll be able to get the hits you want from any heat source once you get more experience. Single flame butane lighters actually heat a bit more thoroughly before the click, so though they take longer, the hit will be bigger than a triple / quad torch on the same point...

    Dynavap VapCap

@Godspeed @Dynalowrider great, thanks so much for the explanation, makes perfect sense now. Excellent, wise words, I'll work on it. First @fcmember's photo with his tiny gun (which I presumed was a novelty lighter at first!), then you talking about learning to field strip, this is a...

    Dynavap VapCap

Thanks for posting this, I saw it in the Best Of thread too, but have a question. Doesn't it make removing the ABV more difficult, as you can't just tip the vapcap upside down and tap, or dig out, without being careful to leave the hemp perfectly in place? Also, I like using the smallest bowl...

    Dynavap VapCap

Haha yeah I totally am like you, I kept dreaming about whether to sell it last night, which isn't the most productive use of the imaginative world of dreams, but hey. Thanks for the replies folks, ridiculously speedy, this forum is great! That's an interesting idea that I hadn't thought of...

    Dynavap VapCap

Got my dynavap order yesterday, very exciting! Spent the evening with the new OmniVap, the flavour through it is incredible, so enjoyable, I honestly didn't expect such a big effect. This is my first vapcap since the OG, and wow, what a difference! I have to say it's making my grasshopper look...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Oh no, poor you, that sucks! I got a Vapcap M for just that reason; losing that would be sad, but at least it's not like losing something as expensive to replace as the GH. Best of luck for your new one; hopefully it's like @Hogni's and even better than your last.

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

@Hogni, that's great your new GH is working so well, do you think it's just the temperature that's different (maybe the firmware update better regulates it, instead of just increasing the temperature)? My GH is still going strong. As @Shieldsab, my backend gets hot (hotter than it used to, I...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

There is a best of thread for the vapcap, might be worth giving that a read. But yeah, I do like how idiotproof the GH is ;)

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

It could be the iso, maybe, if it wasn't fully evaporated when you turned it on. 18 hours sounds like plenty to me, but maybe the heater's geometry makes it hard for iso to exit? Just guessing... As you say, it could be coincidence. Cool, I always enjoy your posts her disGRUNTled, nice to see...
