    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I recall one or two people here (can't find the posts now) writing on their batteries to keep track of them, and finding that the ink (even from permenant pens, IIRC) found its way into the battery compartment, and off the batteries. It isn't in the airflow, obviously, and I can't imagine it...

You're getting voltage and ampage mixed up. USB is always at 5V, that's part of the standard. The ampage can vary, but from a computer it's almost always 0.5A, which is what people recommend for charging the batteries to maximize their lifespan. A phone charger or similar can provide more, like...

    Dynavap VapCap

It's interesting, the vapcap delivers so much more flavor than my grasshopper. I've been pushing it recently to extract everything short of combustion, and I've found I really dislike the flavor when I do that. It's interesting, as with the grasshopper the flavor is so muted (both for lower temp...

I always click it off near the end of each hit, and continue drawing for a couple of seconds, to get all the vapor and to cool the frontend down. I have the Ti, which cools faster than the SS, and it's cool enough to take a new hit from a few seconds after the last one.

I've been using an Nitecore Intellicharger i2, which works well. The i4 is supposed to be good too. There is another brand of charger which can also run off USB that is often recommended and people here use, I recommend you search the forum to find it. Saying that, I think the charger is...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Is that true? I believe it could be, but people in the past have definitely believed GHB2s to be superior. Though the difference between a new and an old battery could be the reason for that, really. Cleaning contact points is an important point, and one I need to do a better job of. That...

    Dynavap VapCap

I've been using my new Omni XL recently, and it's really lovely. I found the regular vapcaps not particularly easy to spin, probably due to my large hands, and was hoping the XL would address that, and it really does, it's so easy to handle now. Not to mention that it's the singular most...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

The GHB2 batteries generally are reliable, yes. You don't here many complaints about them failing early. I mean, they will want replacing after some time, and they don't have a long life in the Grasshopper, but the kind of failure you're describing is unusual. Nobody has done this, no. If the...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Haha that was just what I thought after watching a review of it today. A 15 minute heat-up time, which hits that hard? I definitely would be wiped out by one hit of that, and it looks like a lot of work to get the one hit. I'd love to try one - really I'd love my friend to have one, that I could...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I tried watching the rate of flickering while drawing to ensure my draw wasn't too strong for the Grasshopper, as others have mentioned, and I couldn't see any change in the flicker rate with any draw, either hard or gentle. It was the first time I've used the GH in a little while, as I've been...

    Dynavap VapCap

Hi @wkndwarrior, good question. I think something with a Ti tip would be good, as you get the adjustable bowl, which will make loading a small amount easier and ensure it vapes evenly, plus faster heatup and cooldown times, which if you want stealth does count for something, as you can heat it...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Hi @vapeverythingnyc, nice to have you here! I haven't used concentrates with the grasshopper, and yes, I think you're right to be conservative about it, given what we know about the sensitivity of the sensor / heater to things dripping through. That said, I'd have thought it would work. You...

    Dynavap VapCap

I love the new design. Unlike most dynavap enthusiasts, I'm more of a metal person in terms of aesthetic appreciation, and the new design is, to me, very beautiful.

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

This watching the flickering blue and using it to moderate draw intensity idea is really interesting, particularly as it seems to be working very well for several people. I won't be able to use my GH for a little while, but I look forward to trying this out when I can, and I'll report back. Mine...

    Dynavap VapCap

Just received my Omni XL, I'm so happy about it. Much easier to spin in my hands than the Omni. I have 2 regular (new fancy bodies) Omnis now, as I had a shipping screwup, so I'll sell them sometime soon. Turns out I have more vapcaps than I think I'd ever need. That happened fast... I only got...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I've only ever used an external charger with my GH, but I'm planning to switch to the USB one, because I need to slim down my vape stuff, and a usb cable takes up less room than a charger (and my usage is never heavy enough to need to charge other batteries while the device is in use - I have 4...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

There's a new post on the official HL blog, this one "Design Series - Front End", I'm really enjoying these to learn a bit more about how my GH is put together and works. https://www.grasshoppervape.com/blog/design-series-front-end/ Unrelated question: does the new charger work any differently...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Thanks @almost-there, that makes sense, it's what I suspected, but it's good to spell these things out - it wouldn't do to kill my GH if I can help it! Though @MoltenTiger's issue of air bubbles not being displaced by the alcohol sounds like a sensible thing to think about, I wonder what a good...

Can you describe exactly what you're talking about with iso soaking? Are you holding the GH mouthpiece down, in a class of iso alcohol, up to the intake holes, for a few minutes? Several people have mentioned it being useful, but I haven't seen a description of it that I completely understand.

This is really cool. Particularly the groove to help you find the carb, I like very much. Good work. Love how intrepid the people are here.
