This thread was initially posted in the vapman thread to warn that some/all photos from FC were being reposted to instagram without permission or credit, and NowInhale had reposted some of them. Then it got moved to its own thread for the lively discussion that this has inspired.
I’d be annoyed...
Yeah, definitely a fair but odd gripe. I adore my reload but would’ve never gotten it if I pinch loaded. If pinch loading is important, you could use a tray/pinch bowl and just pour out the herb as needed?
For stem vapes I straw load, for Tempest/dynavaps I use the twisting method shown in the...
Would you be using with an induction heater or torch? I’ve found my armoured caps don’t seem to work quite as consistently with my wand as the regular caps, but hear they are very helpful for torch users.
Can’t speak for the halo tip, but definitely enjoy the classic ti tip, would be worth...
The link in Yoosh’s quote goes over his side of the story, I think herbaltherm has their own post on their forum? Not sure if Goose was previously in Yoosh’s role or if you meant Yoosh, but sounds like this scenario played out a few times now.
Yeah, I initially had it set where it looked like the manual and reduced airflow to about 1/4, but was definitely riding a line where if I took my normal speed inhale on the first hit or opened the airports to 1/2 I’d pretty reliably combust. Pushing the insert up to current depth gives me a...
For me when I was just starting out it made my 1g pickups go from a monthly purchase to quarterly. Over time though I have found myself using more due to increased tolerance and not needing to recover from/clean off the after effects of smoking, but I still only use about 1g per month. I think I...
When did you get your wand? I picked mine up from Dynavap around March 2024. Was more thinking that maybe newer production runs adjusted the coil position, but it’s probably just variance in their design.
Mine would scorch 70% of the time unless I set airflow to minimum at the recommended...
Looks like probably @CDXX Pipes or potentially one of @Dan Morrison’s combustion pipes? Not as familiar with Dan’s work prior to nomads/toads but would not be surprised if a collector like Fangorn managed to find one!
Unironically balls deep is a good way to describe the ideal wand insert position! Gotta set it up so that the ball chamber is the only thing in the coil so you don’t accidentally burn the bush (aka herb/bowl, but gotta maintain the innuendo)!
I assume brenyo’s wand has its coil slightly lower...
Oh that’ll do it, mine would burn at that setting with half or full bowl. Try moving the insert up a bit, I found mine works the best at what is described as the minimum depth in the manual.
Very unsurprising, he reminds me of folks I played with over the years who definitely bought someone’s account because they were “just too busy to level”. Would fit right in with Bannon who got his start selling gold in WoW before switching to propaganda!
Same, but I did have an issue with burning the material closest to the oven when I started using mine. Turned out my wand adapter was set too low, adjusting the adapter’s sleeve so there was 1 ring between the top of the wand and the top of the glass insert has fixed the issue.
I was scared of burning myself/my house down when I replaced my first battery wrap too, but it’s super easy and takes like 5 minutes with a hair dryer (less if you’re practiced). Definitely worth a try to save some e-waste, but batteries are pretty cheap anyway.
Agreed, though I can pretty easily say the Firewood 9 is my overall favourite, but really only by seniority. My Toad/Vapman and Tempest are great when sitting at camp or wanting to take what feels like a flower dab, but my Firewood 7 or 9 fill basically every other niche for me.
On a related...
Website, just search the name but pretty sure it’s just goodvibesboro.com! HighArtisan (also just the name + .com) also does some stems. I think both also do commissions, but haven’t bothered with those yet.
I use the ispire/ispure wand, seems to be the most popular and best all rounder option available, but is somewhat slow. I carry mine in this case I picked up a while back.
I think the Vestratto Forge is probably the best in terms of speed, but it’s massive, expensive and the initial run had a...
The capsules have a 3/8” screen at the bottom.
Tamping helps the conduction, ensures consistent extraction and keeps little bits in the oven. There is a lid (the tamper plug) and a ceramic ring that covers the heater coil, but little bits can still get through the vent holes on the ceramic...
My capsules are too, my tamp tool can get about 2/3 of the way down before I run out of length and need to swap to the brush handle. He might’ve made the current tampers wider, or capsules narrower?
