No silicone in oven. Some holding mouthpiece, but it's almost entirely separate from the vapour path. The post for the pearl is silicone, and inhabits the mouth of the bowl, but is mostly covered by the pearl itself. Don't know about the other, hidden parts of the air/vapour path, but since...

#1 would be the one for me too, but I'm fully aware that I'm probably in a minority and wouldn't want to lead you down a rabbit hole where you'll only sell a tiny handfull of heaters! #1 does have the advantage of 'normal' heating times whilst plugged in, and I too think that's a big plus. :2c:
