not for me. i got an all glass elev8r and quickly started using a stainless screen with it. i couldnt taste the difference but i could certainly see it. the amount of bits of weed swooshing around in the water when i didnt use the screen drove me mad.
ive used it and through glass prefer the more open flow without it. sometimes though i like to use the wpa with the cooling unit like a normal stem and take my first draw without any sort of water tool, then finish it off on a bong.

yes, you use it instead of the glass tube. you can use a cooling unit if you like but you dont have to. you can use the cup screen that comes with the device, or any other screen you bodge to fit.
tinymights own 18mm wpa, not the graduated one but the one that can fit a cooling unit, is better than the rbt one. the rbt one has a sort of internal lip at the end to be heated which makes changing screens and cleaning a bit more awkward and also takes up a lot of heat.
