On the Madheaters website it advises a cleaning before first use. I'm just going to clean with some q-tips and iso. I will submerge the cap for a few mins then rinse. Should be good to go after that.
Alright so I thought I would take some shots before I dissemble it for cleaning, before a long night of testing. My initial impressions are very high. The attention to detail. The precision. The balanced weight. The device feels incredibly premium in the hand. Multiple pics, so scroll accross.
Just got back from a week long hiking trip. My Tempest 2 has been delivered to a neighbour! I think they have gone out shopping. I'm just sat peering through my blinds waiting.
I'll let you guys know when it gets here and I can take it for a spin.
I don't think UK is getting tariffed too hard currently. I have tried to cut American products and services out of my life from big corporations, simply due to not wanting to financially contribute to what I see as a soon to be Authoritarian Christo-fascist state. The corporations have red hands...
This isn't an attempt to police the thread. But I would sincerely find a seperate thread on the tariff issue to be helpful and interesting. It's something that is clearly going to affect our hobby, and the small creators within it.
I normally don't like branding. But I loved the branding on the early Tempest models. Reminiscent of etched writing on the back of good quality automatic watches. It didn't convey a sense of cheapness. Quite the opposite.
Mine just arrived. The mp end is scuffed and scratched all over. Looks like a heavily used second hand unit.
It's also clear by eye that they got the tolerences wrong on the bowl. The bowl is smaller as the walls incorrectly point slightly inwards towards the end unlike the CXL. This is why...
You think a high pitched scratching noise like nails on a chalkboard, and zero resistance to corroding almost instantly does not affect performance?
Does it not also give you health concerns? It's not exactly acting like decent quality SS is it? Mine will be almost certainly be going in the...
It is clear we have a problem with quality on the new caps. Not addressing this issue will determine this launch an abject failure. I think Camouflet needs to get onto their supplier as this needs some kind of solution.
If it was Camouflets decision to lower the quality of the cap to increase...
Fair point on the none refundable pre order being due to this. I think I was being unfair on that count. Agreed though this feels like a rush job. Their wording on the initial pre order page suggested a complete unit, that would cool via the material choice.
Just seems like dishonest marketing...
I've gone off the company to be honest. I remember telling people they wouldn't nuke their carefully gained reputation with a pre order scam. Well I was only half right. It's not a scam, but it's not exactly an honest release either.
This thing is not ready for the market. They wanted to make a...
Mine is also from Vapefiend, and spins for about 4 seconds. Even when I put maximum force into it.
Maybe the ones sent to third party sellers are not quality tested to the same degree.
EDIT - Nvm, they just use a weaker barring now. Damn that sucks. I guess I'll have to buy another one myself...
The heat shield will not alter performance in anyway. Only difference is weight. Ti is heavier. Both will be relatively light weight anyway.
Taste will not be imparted because the shield is not in the vapour path.
Very good points. I was playing fast and loose by just labeling them convection/conduction. There are lots of variables like you said. I find the Tornado in the wand has more conduction, but more waste for example.
We also don't know how much the Tornado atomiser contributes to the signature as...
It was my experience that the Anvil has more conduction, not less. The Tornado feels very Hybrid to me.
That's why the Tornado won't really replace the Anvil, as the signature is different.
