Could you describe how you used the coils? Device, Settings, Load Material and Amount, Pulsing Technique, Cleaning, etc. My AC coils last a pretty long time. They work in Temperature Control which I believe adds to their life. But even without TC, with proper usage, they last for dozens of grams.

There are actually no parts or coils to replace on the W9 Hercules. All parts can be disassembled and cleaned back to new. Only time you need to replace a part is if you lose one. I've lost my retaining nut down the sink once before.

You should just ask Vic @ HVT which version you were sent. He's aware of the issue and I believe is sending out replacements if you paid for the black ceramic/ss but received black ceramic/Kanthal.

I've never tried using a 3 piece - wouldn't kief still accumulate in the bottom where the ground herbs fall? Or is it that the kief is being scooped up along with the herb each time you load a bowl?

The fine plate is extremely annoying to use. Herb gets stuck in all the holes waiting for us to poke them through. The coarse plate grinds somewhat fine anyway, especially if you grind upside down.
