Only plugged-in so far. Impressed with the charge speed on a suitable USB port too.
I had planned to pick up a pair of spares and a charger but haven't needed to yet (and may not?) given that it's not my only device. The battery life has been more than adequate for a couple of bowls each night.
It definitely can, but with the caveat that it almost entirely depends on the pipe/bowl being used.
I agree with what @west-elec said, that the distance to the load is a big factor along with the technique.
I've combusted once which was my fault. I don't think I turned the wattage down after...
Whilst I haven't used a glass bat, I would only use my coil with glass expansion of some sort.
I seem to remember the end of a glass bat is also shaped to fit a glass joint and a quick google search may confirm that?
No it isn't.
If everything is clean and functional, hot spots are user error.
It could be any combination of over-loaded/tamped the bowl, flame running too hot/long or inhalation speed not matching the lighter and load size.
I'd consider a jet flame mandatory for good results. As long as you don't run it too close I feel like it actually gives more margin for error than candle flame lighters. The even, steady flame on a jet seems much easier to aim and hold at a consistent distance away from the ceramic. I also...
I wouldn't say I like it more than my flame powered options for a big weekend on the herb, but the NEO is what I'm reaching for when I get home from work each night/morning. I live in an apartment (with non existent sound insulation) and work irregular hours so firing up a big flame torch to hit...
After looking at those photo's I can't help but wonder why you have so much build up on the hot plate? Are you holding the lighter too close and getting soot?
As for the hot spotting, have either of you cleaned inside the cap recently?
Even air flow is important and it doesn't take much of a...
I'm sure @Black_Prrl can correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I seem to remember reading that modification is required to get the best results with the Ember pipe? It predates the NEO rather than being designed for it.
Are you using the silicone seal? It sounds like you're having difficulty...
I've tried the NEO with a wooden pipe and a number of different glass combos. I've been happy with the device's adaptability given that each setup can suit a different grind size, technique and/or power level.
I really like the performance when using the wooden pipe, it's just that my cheap...
Hi all, after hiding in the shadows I thought it was long overdue I join to contribute, view attachments and get notifications for threads I've been following.
I think I started to combust regularly in 2003 and made the switch to vaping in 2014.
I don't remember when I first visited the forum...
