Forgot to mention: whereas the red "heater" lamp on the Extreme stays solid red while heating, goes out when cooling, and flickers when the controller is maintaining the set temperature; the Q's heater lamp behaves a little differently: it still goes on while heating, and off while cooling, but...
Got my Q. :) The nice postal worker brought it this afternoon.
Before I send back my Extreme (minor warranty problem), I'm going to make sure the Q is free from problems. So I'll have my last-gen Extreme and this new first-gen Q side by side for comparison for the next two days in case someone...
So - is there a way to get that screen to sit more squarely, to fit better? I've tried mooshing it around with various things, like a wooden spoon handle, to shape it better, but it just wants to boinnnggg back into a potato chip shape. :/
It's probably not designed with rough handling in mind. There may be a more suitable vape for that. Still, if the breakage of that part results in a significant amount of warranty repair or exchanges, I reckon Arizer is aware of it. If it hurts the bottom line or the product's reputation then...
That's pretty much the approach I took when I got my first vape (Vapir One, a real clunky unit). I've been reading online forums and articles about vaporizing and the various subjective effects that THC and the other cannabinoids have, and the temps they boil off the herb at. Then trying to see...
Vaping ain't smoking, that's for sure. You might be missing the cannabinoids that you inhale when combusting. It's a much higher temperature, and there is all kinda crap that gets into your lungs.
Play with the temp control, do some fresh kief or bud at 200C and see what that feels like. Do...
Whether the Q is a better vaporizer or not remains to be seen. It might just be sorta better. If the high's the same, then the other changes might not be important enough to stress over.
Just think - your Extreme might end up being a classic!
I use the latest version of the Extreme (not familiar with the evolution of this vape, I'm just mentioning this in case it matters).
I use the elbow-pack method which puts the herb a bit further from the heating element, though I don't know if that makes much difference in terms of how hot the...
All: What's a good alternative "tip" for this unit? By "tip" I mean the end piece that you draw on -- I'm sure there is a real name for that part. Anyway, Arizer provided a nice glass one, but my Extreme is on a tile counter top, and I know if I am not careful about setting it down, or drop it...
bigchucka: No I didn't see that. Musta been asleep at the back of the room. :/
electrician: How are you mounting that 14mm male onto the vape? Just pressing it onto it or something?
I'm not impressed with the cyclone bowl thing -- the hot air looks to be going up the center of the chamber while the vegetative material often gets stuck to the side of it. Does not look like even heating to me. Packing the little elbow screen seems to work really well. Your method -- how do...
I can't believe that we're talking about such a trivial little detail. The oven light analogy is kinda a good one, but it doesn't flicker brightly and so noticeably. I like it for the aforementioned geek appeal, and it catches my eye when I walk into the room, so I know that the unit is on and...
