Are you using a 3.7v Herc or 7.4v Herc? It sounds like you have a 3.7v if you're holding the button for 15sec with no vapor. I find that a 45-60sec warmup is needed from a cold start with a 3.7v Herc. The 7.4v Herc will combust if you hold the button longer than 10sec.

You may have gotten some oil on the button. Dip a q-tip in 99% ISO and swab around the button and press it rapidly to get some ISO around the sides. I've seen sticky buttons and this usually fixes it. DO NOT SOAK THE WHOLE HEAD!
