I would have to disagree with you completely on this. It gets filthy dirty and oozes re-condensed oil all over the place, including your pockets :( IMHO, it's a total piece of crap compared to what is possible with a proper design to fully conserve battery energy and automatically recycle...
LOL. A wise man. Unfortunately I dont think there's any alternative, except maybe the quartz quest by Divine Tribe, but someone made the comment that it had the same hot spot issue with the oil "running away" from the hot bottom surface of the quartz cup.
Not surprised. Saw him in the Triton OS videos and he seemed to me to be a bit unstable, bragging and pounding his chest. I was not impressed. Frankly if I had seen the video first, I probably would not have bought his product.
IMHO, he would do well to solve his current problem properly first. He needs an atty with a sidewall heater to solve the Hotspot problem. Who is this dude anyway? Is he an engineer or a motor cycle mechanic?
The one thing he desperately needs is an atty with heated sidewalls. This would solve his hot spot issue. It would be nice if he'd get his current tech working properly before he develops any more new TECH. With respect, he owes it to his customers IMHO.
O really! Is the company still viable? They sure did a hell of a job hyping the Triton OS to us. You know, I am starting to see that in this nascent industry, for the business side of the industry it's the lawless wild west, we cannot forget that in most places it's still illegal. :(( It's hard...
Thanks for that info F&V. I was thinking of trying a quartz quest, but I will not bother. Looks like the good souls who are designing these devices need some engineering help. The bucket obviously needs to be heated from the sides as well as the bottom.
Well, all you Triton OS users, now that you have had a chance to use it for a couple of months, what do you think? Have you been having issues with hotspots on the bottom of the quartz and titanium buckets? When you hit the power, the center heats up first and the oil is driven away from the...
@SamuraiSam
Since you are an expert on extraction, perhaps you can answer this question: does the rosin produced by hot-pressing cured bud contain unwanted waxes, lipids and other substances that one would normally want to remove through winterization? I am guessing that most of these...
GW probably has more than one patent. The one to which I was referring above is US 7,344,736. Here is the abstract:
The invention relates to the extraction of pharmaceutically
active components from plant materials, and more particularly
to the preparation of a botanical drug substance (BDS)...
@ClearBlueLou
I agree with you that his comments are insulting and way over the top. Guess he has a bit of an anger management issue, huh? Nevertheless his point is well-taken. Blasting in a small room with an electric exhaust fan is a recipe for disaster and hopefully his vehement remarks will...
This is not the standard way to do iso extraction and winterization. You seem to have combined the two processes into one, which I believe is counterproductive for the following reasons. (1) With regard to extraction process, the yield will be way lower if the extraction process is done at...
Just to be clear, the process you describe in the first recipe is in fact "winterization". I am wondering: have you ever tried winterizing the rosin preparation like you do with the BHO? If so, did the same type of gunk precipitate out? My understanding is that rosin also contains waxes, lipids...
Yes, the small syringe filters work great. There may be other ways to remove the waxes etc. but I believe winterization using ethanol is the most straight forward.
Does anybody know if rosin made by hot pressing raw herb contains waxes lipids etc.?
Not true, friend. Shatter removes the waxes and lipids either by winterizing or not extracting it out of the plant in the first place. Otherwise the shatter would not be clear and brittle. I'm 99% sure of this, so you might try asking a manufacturer directly. Anybody else have any info on this?
Im currently making qwiso, then turning that to juice with pg+peg, then vaping it in a coolfire tc100
That will work. However I am not sure if qwiso has waxes in it. So you may want to try winterizing a small amount of your extract before diluting it with Peg. If a bunch of whitish or tan...
@ "mccringleberry: In the interest of helping to "decriminalize" your previous statement: Very Nicely Put. It is a bit disappointing to have to come to the conclusion that most of what we are now consuming is primarily the result of willful mislabeling on the part of unscrupulous dealers, many...
You are a member of a very small majority, friend. Not everybody's brain cells respond identically to identical doses. When an individual has a reaction that is 180 degree out of phase with everybody else's, it's called a "paradoxical" reaction.
The problem is exacerbated by the fact that...
Well, let's hope some of this "nerdery" may help prolong our FC colleagues' lives!!
