Having read though way too many pages of this thread I decided to buy the Pax I thought I would give back and share how I like to store my Pax.
I prefer to use airtight, hard cases for maximum security; as such here are my two ‘raw kits’ made using Pelican Mico-Cases:
The larger one holds...
I currently am using a glass sherlock Vapor Genie for at home herb vapping, a glass bat Vapor Genie for on the go herb vapping, and a O-Phos with a 1.5 Ohm for oil (on the go or at home). I am looking for an on the go electronic herb vape and I am considering the Persi + SR-74 or the Pax.
So...
Ok I tried again now that I am better with the VG with a flame and it was super easy. In fact I liked it so much I am going to pick up one of these:

With can do both flame and torch.
It can be done with a torch but takes lots of practice. I have yet to try to master it but I might so I can use the wooden VG on the disc golf course.
The topper opening is about as big as a nickel.
Never used the VS but the Glass VG is like the wooden one but with a cleaner taste. The taste is pure goodness. The velocity of the highs are similar but you can pull much larger and tastier clouds of vap with the glass version.
I just take a long screw and gentlly screw it into the screen and pull it out and put in a new one. You are going to want to get the replacement screens from vapor genie.
Yeah it does build up there but cleans easily. I normally clean it once the air flow is restricted enough to be annoying...
The Glass VG is really the Cadillac of vapping imo (see my photo review).
As for the heat; if you hold it just behind the joint you are fine. The only danger really comes when emptying it after bowl as you can forget and tough the hot bowl. Honestly I have never really burned myself. I have...
I just checked and VaporGenie.com is now selling the lighter I ended up getting. A Lotus.
Very nice lighter, I recommend them.
My vector lighter has a super long flame on the lowest setting now which is hugely annoying. They are selling the vector for $3 now ... lol.
I can report that this baby cleans up like a champ. I used about 4 oz of 420 cleaner in a plastic bag to get almost every thing off.
I then removed the screen with a long screw by screwing it into the screen and pulling it out. This allowed me to get a Q tip with the tip removed through the...
Thanks. Very nice review. I am glad that mine was useful.
I ended up getting a Lotus lighter at my local tobacco shop (Pipeworld) which is very nice. I use the vector in my Classic VG travel pack. The vector's flame does vary during use and the bowl stirrer is stuck. Stay away from Vectors...
Not sure. The bottom of the stopper is 18mm in diameter if that helps.
I would think that the key is to have the bottom of the bowl an exact distance from the bottom of the ceramic filter to get the temp just right.
Yeah it was $120 for the Glass Vapor Genie with the Axe-pack option. The Axe-Pack seems to sell at about $37 at other sites around the web so it is a good deal to upgrade from the basic one imo.
Got some great pulls off the Zong with water the other night. Just have to watch for the vapor so you don't get it too hot and burn.
I ended up getting a tiny bit of smoke on the last hit. I ended up ordering just a classic topper to live on my bong full time ;)
Also I reviewed the Glass...
Having just rediscovered vaporizing I went gung-ho and got a Glass Vapor Genie to go with my Classic Vapor Genie (review here http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1132 ).
Here are some photos and a brief review.
I bought the Axe-Pack with it as I am a sucker for cases and for $20...
Having used the Classic Genie now for a week since my review I tried removing the mouth piece to great effect. It is shorter for easier pocketing but more importanatly it allows for greater air flow for pulling faster hits. You do need to watch the temp with the shorter length though.
My glass...
It would work fine. The only basic difference between the handcarved vapor genie and the classic is that the handcarved has the bowl inset in the wood, but it is the same bowl.
As to building this piece take notice that they sell just the pipes and just the tops as well (although to order just...
