I think getting herb in there cannot be avoided. When you pack your stems - if you press it in a little, it won't stick out. Also, I notice when I am done with the load - somehow the herb shrinks into the stem, meaning I probably don't pack it tight, and the air being pulled through the stem...

Ahh ok I do the same, without the paperclip. I found that if I push the screen in the middle (while it lays at the bottom), it cups the screen up a bit. By not lying completely flat, and being a bit of a bowl, it falls out easily, no paperclip needed.

I tried to take a picture this morning, and guess what....no crack in the glass. I surely couldn't find it, but I am 99.99% certain I saw one in the glass, the day I opened and inspected it. I will have to look at it under a different light, and keep looking. However, that probably explains...

Ahh I see, that is what I am doing, other than that extra screen inside the herb chamber. I figure it will get stuck, and limit the amount I can put in there. I am only using this for herbs, since concentrates are nonexistent around here - unless you make your own, which gets super expensive.
