just pour the alcohol/stem oil mixture into the coffee filter and let it drop out into your dish. You can rinse the filter with clean iso to get it all out of the filter but the more you use the more you have to evap it. I use a metal strainer like this so I don't have to hold it over the dish.

that stem oil is going to go a lot further than the abv. IME 5-7g of ABV from some very good AK was only one really good dose.

Check out the VB dabbler or the bholt if you want to use it with a water path which will make the vapor even smoother for your lungs

Yes they will work, you just need an 18mm GonG stem, but the VX HT are probably overkill for the solo. A small bubbler is really all you need to cool the vapor from the solo. Bigger pieces are better for the really heavy hitters like the VXC, Sub, LSV. Here is my DYI that I made to pair with...

@ataxian I agree I think the bowl is fine just as is and I have a domed screen in mine. Even when I'm with friends it is easy to empty and repack. I could see others wanting more though

I don't think that would work either, that dish really is fairly worthless. If you are looking for a device to do double duty like that, your best bet is the DBV or SSV, I have also read the dish on the EQ works much better than the solo but the other 2 both work well

I agree, the small bowl size is a very common complaint so I would guess that if a bigger (deeper) bowl would work as well either arizer or PV would have offered it by now

they are daisy screens or glass screens, typically you put them in the bottom of a bowl to prevent pulling the herb through, I'm nit exactly sure what ataxian is trying to do with them, looks like maybe keep the herb off of the heater

the loose stem issue with the solo is easily fixed with an o-ring which you can get directly from PV, once you add that, you can hold it by the stem and swing it around without issue.

right now it's a toss up between my LSV and a glass nail, but I'm only using glass because I just got into concentrates, it came with the dome and I haven't shelled out for ti yet.
