Here's a 3rd hand explanation, from a reddit post- the manufacturer attached the temp sensor incorrectly.

sure, It could be intentional but undocumented too. And if so, it is apparently there to tell you that it will no longer charge or heat, since that's what the people who are getting it have reported.

There's some sort of logic board in there, connected to a thermocouple, that tells which LEDs to light up or flash. The fact that the LEDs are signaling something that they aren't even programmed to do is not a good thing.... Even if they are shipping these things world wide already, we can be...

That's why I said "from what we know so far". But also, if there are indeed a bunch more GH that have been shipped that we haven't heard about, we also wouldn't have heard if THOSE ones were failing. I don't know if they ARE actually stress testing each one, or simply assembling them and making...

I said not to tell me that! I REALLY hope that GH Inc. has some idea of what is causing these failures, and can come up with a fix. Cause from what we know so far, the failure rate is astronomical.

Yeah, I don't know how "soon", just "next". Though it's likely that more have actually been shipped than the handful we've heard about here and on reddit.

Never said they shipped any to early birds, only that until they ship those first 243, none of the regular backers are going to see theirs (ours!).

For those keeping track of such things, there were 243 early birds and holiday orders. So presumably, regular backers should be next in line. Of course, we still have no clue how many completed hoppers they can do in a day or week....

Wouldn't be too sure that everyone else had that incorrect impression ....

Or couldn't you just pinch some herb between your fingers and put it in? Why does it need to take a bunch more paraphernalia to simply put some herb in a tube?

I'm fine going back to the default "it'll ship when it's ready"- I just got excited cause it seemed like things were finally happening....

So far, the failure rate is higher than the success rate (based on reports- there may well be GH's in the wild whose owners are keeping mum)
