If replacing the upper silicone ring and vapor path didn't fix the taste issue.
Then it definitely is the silicone ring that is under the screen.
Which happens to be the whole bottom of the bowl. The bottom silicone ring has a metal tube in the middle that the vapor path tube attaches to...
After 2 months and 3 replacement Wispr's I sold it on EBay.
This was way before they decided to upgrade and fix the leaking valve issue.
I'm glad they finally fixed the problem.
The Wispr is not as ergonically friendly as the original iolite
I never did like holding a big Lego brick or...

Just call them or email them. They will send you an RMA number.
Just tell them the truth. That it takes multiple times to ignite.
You will need to send a copy of that RMA email and a...
As soon as you receive your Pax.
Send your Wispr back to get the upgraded model. Make sure you have the invoice or proof of purchase. That's all you need to show them that you are still within the 2 year warranty
Right now I'm waiting for a warranty exchange from GV.
If the new one still smells the same.
I wont even try it.
I will sell it and would be happy to get $100 for it.
Since i only paid $109.00
We were all informed from the manufacturer that the smell/taste should go away due to the silicone not being cured.
Also some members who received them earlier than others also claimed that the taste went away.
I'm not the only one who would agree that OF knows what he is talking about...
Hey Now!
Mr. OF by no means should ever be called ignorant.
He has more insight and knowledge then any other member here. (Just look at his message count)
If VisiblyVaped would of elaborated more on his post like i did.
Then OF probably wouldn't of commented the way he did.
He is just...
I do agree with VisiblyVaped on this one.
I also thought that the smell and taste was going away after some continuous use.
So just to see if i got used to the taste. I went back to using one of my iolites for a full week.
Then when i went back to the Puffit i got smacked in the face by...

Putting on the black Puffit cap resets it. Or just push the button in and hold it for a few seconds.
Its more of a quick double tap to get the battery status.
I followed the cleaning instructions.
Syringed the ISO/Salt mix through about 5 times
The smell and taste are still there.
I'm sure the cleaning video from them was an afterthought. They had no intention of us cleaning the vapor path. Until we started asking how. They obviously assumed...
Yesterday i took the screen out of my Puffit to do a cleaning. I noticed there is another silicone ring under the screen that doesn't look removable.
So even if you replaced the silicone ring around the top of the bowl and the silicone tube in the vapor path. You still will have the lower ring...
The bowl piece just pulls off of the silicone tube. Then use the threaded brass tool and screw it in the bottom of the bowl and it will push the screen and retaining ring up and out.
