I am a glassblower, and I would not heat it. glass expands in all directions when heated. is this what you want? noooo.
I'm with the clothes hangar guy, or something stiffer. bend a hook in it and try to tap it. don't just pull with even pressure. even try to tap the side of the joint with...
@THC SCIENTIFIC I ordered an 8 an a SR71 and some coils but made 2 separate orders.
is there any way you can combine the orders?
also is there any way you can make sure I get a newer style button assembly for the 8?
is there a possibility you can adjust the herc so I will know where to put...
does the 8 support 18500 batteries?

(1) 18350?
really wanting to get an 8 now that I see people's problems are being worked out I've airways been afraid of being a beta tester, but it's looking like it's the time to pull the trigger
I've been watching this thread for a few years and am finally going to transition over to the herc. can some of you folks make some recommendations.
I know the 71 heats up quicker.
(to me this is a must)
I hear the 74x is the easiest to use.
(I don't mind playing with things to get them...
I've never been a big fan of w9's constant reinventing the wheel.
lately I've been using the divine tribe ceramic rod carts. load up .7 and go.
no leaks or clogs so far, 3 weeks in!
no funky taste just pure concentrate goodness!
I blasted a few times into pure silicone dishes. they tend to warp and change shape where the cold is. the bottom wants to pop up. I got lucky and didn't lose anything. back to the pyrex dish for me.
here was my solution to a reclaim collector. right above the jar there is a push so the vapor has to travel thru the jar. gravity brings the claim from the nail down to the jar

that is the exact nail I got from them. I leave it on 12hrs a day every day. takes under a min to heat up and never over runs. I'm very happy with my gimido enail
I had really good luck with gimido from China. I ended up spending $275 but that is a full digital PID that does not drop temp or overrun. a quartz domeless, and a 20mm coil heater, along with the aluminum box and cord.
I didn't mind spending a little more to know i would have a bullet proof...
I'll say this once again......
it's not the carb cap touching the coil that's the problem.
it's a cheap PID. (CONTROLLER) that is causing you to get large temp drops. the PID is taking too long to recognize the temp drop and react to it. better quality PIDs do not drop temp like you are...
this also has to do with the quality of your PID. on my nail I can put the carb cap on the coil all day and not get a drop of more than 5 degrees. doesn't matter if it's Boro, quartz, or ti. it has to do with how long the PID takes to recognize the coil is losing temp, then how long it takes the...
