Awesome, thanks much! :)
The liger v3 is very nice but I like the v2 bucket better for my needs. The heat shield would be great for a typical e-nail and heater rig but I'm using an induction heater controlled by an arduino to heat my current Ti banger and the v2 bucket design would work better...
@mrbonsai420, do you know how long it typically takes CCA to respond to pre-sales questions?
I emailed them last Monday evening and no response yet, I guess they are pretty busy.
Also is there still a discount code for FC?
I feel that PID controllers are too often blamed when it's more likely problems are due to an improper design of the whole system like the popular use of the hot runner heater coils on e-nails or even simply improper tuning of the PID parameters. A nozzle band heater style would have more...
Not a bad idea, I'm not sure how to determine how often to calibrate though, maybe when the taste changes. Thermocouple on the nail still rules, we just need an easier method to attach it, still working on this.
I feel the biggest issue with current e-nail rigs is the poor thermal interface between nails and heaters, for example all of the complaints in the Liger threads. Heating with conduction makes it difficult to maintain temperature stability, it's just the nature of the beast. This is why I...
Hey guys just wanted to update my progress. I replaced the heater module with a lower wattage unit from http://www.banggood.com/5V-12V-ZVS-Induction-Heating-Power-Supply-Module-With-Coil-p-1015637.html. This module is good for up to 150W and is much better for this application.
the work coil...
using a phone for the interface saves the maker the hardware costs of a display and pushbuttons / dials.
nice profit margin for sure.
any personal experience with the PID library? I just tried playing with it in the nano on my e-nail and so far my basic code controls much better. I...
the fast heat up, about 30 seconds, is a nice feature for sure plus being battery powered would make this a great portable unit. The lack of white vapor may be due to the poor fit of the carb cap, I need to get a better one. But there is decent vapor on the exhale, my camera just doesn't do too...
excellent analysis chase, induction heating would work much better for the Ligers.

I answered this first in the next gen thread but it's worth repeating here.
"The temp of the bottom of the bucket is over a hundred degrees F higher than what the thermocouple reads as it is spot-welded higher up on the side. I actually started with the setpoint at over 600 F and worked down...
The temp of the bottom of the bucket is over a hundred degrees F higher than what the thermocouple reads as it is spot-welded higher up on the side. I actually started with the setpoint at over 600 F and worked down until the taste improved and the remains of the dab didn't smell burnt. The...
Here's a shameless plug of my concept of a next generation e-nail:

Do it with induction. :)
I was intrigued by the banger style nails in particular the Liger but that one isn't in my budget currently so I got this nail from http://www.dhgate.com/product/smoking-dogo-2015-may-new-arrival-universal/238802269.html for $12.85. It fits nicely on my small Silika bubbler with a 14mm to 10mm...
I'm not familiar with the vapcap but from what I can gleam from their website I would advise not using an induction heater due to their temperature indicator mechanism and all of the warnings against over heating.
That said the induction coil could be scaled down in power easier than scaling...
I have been a huge fan of the amazing work from GW and the folks at Skunk Pharm
for many years and I remembered him mentioning induction heating so I sent him the details of my project.
I felt very honoured to have him show my work in his blog.
Thanks GW. :)
Yes you can shape the work coil somewhat. I wasn't familiar with the supreme but after looking it up I would take a different approach. I have thought about vaporizer applications before and would go with a coiled titanium tube as the work piece, possibly stuffed with rolled titanium mesh if...
First off thanks to all for your amazing contributions to the cannabis community, I have learned a lot from all of your forum posts.
I love dabbing concentrates but I wasn't thrilled with using a blazing torch in my livingroom or tripping over e-nail wires as I am often clumsy.
Plus e-nail...
No, not me, but I have been working on this project about 3 1/2 years. I've been using some variation of it daily and loving it, but I may be a bit biased.
I'm not selling them, it's just a hobby that I thought turned out well and I wanted share so it's open sourced on github...
