I use my splinter Z on a 30 second cruise in wattage mode. This is mainly because the button on my VTC Dual gets warm to the touch when it's held down for long periods of time, and it is a bit more convenient when using the Z through water. Keeping the cruise at 30 seconds keeps the device on...
@jardri Their site says in big letters that the wait time is at least 4 weeks, you only had to hold out a bit longer. How is transparency a bad way to run a business?
While I haven't had any issues with my fierce, or at least none that I've noticed, I'll probably still send it in for the update because if it makes the vape work better why not?
If anyone is going to use a Dremel on glass I highly advise you put it on it's lowest setting, and submerge the glass in water, this will help prevent it from cracking sure to thermal shock but I've still had glass crack on me doing this. You gotta go really slow too, let the Dremel do the work...
The taper isn't any different, just the length of the joint, RBT's 19/19 joints are just 19/22 joints that have had 3mm cut off. It should be noted that 19/26mm joints have the same taper, again the difference just comes down to the length. And easy way to test this is to grab a joint of each...
As long as the stem isn't loose then it'll work fine even if you can see a bit of the ground glass. I have a few stems like this but they work no problem, to test if the fit is good just put the stem in (with no force, just set it in there) and then give it a twist and a wiggle, if there's any...
It depends on the stem but the stems that come with the V1 work with the metal rimmed screens no problem. Some 19/22 joints will work with the metal rimmed baskets and others don't.
@cybrguy The splinter v1 does have a 22mm joint. I was under the impression that it had a 19mm joint as well but was pleasantly surprised when that turned out to be wrong.
I bend the screen over the ack of the tubo pick so that I becomes a bitofa dome, then put it in the stem sideways and use the pick the get it into place. I usually place the screen so the dome is facing the bottom of the stem, this is so I can then push on it a bit with the backside of the pick...
If the stem doesn't fit and you don't want to do what @leveltree described I've used rolling papers to make a stem fit by wrapping a paper around the base of the stem. It's a temporary fix but it works.
@Abysmal Vapor thanks! Yeah it's a beautiful wood and should look nice in my collection. Purpleheart would have matched my purple tubo perfectly though :p
Sorry for the double post, but fj answered my question. Just ordered a solid wood unit! Was sad to see that there was no purpleheart option though. The padauk still looks nice though.
Hey everyone, just a quick question. I was looking at the custom tubo page on lamart and noticed they no longer have orange evics. Does anyone know why?
