I use it w/o the screen in the bottom. There are little dimples in the corners of the bud kup capsule that keep it elevated off of the oven floor. Also, I couldn't get the lid to sit in place properly with the screen in place while using the bud kup. I hope that helps.

I hold the screen with tweezers, then I light a bic lighter underneath. It burns off the residue, and the remaining charred bits can be knocked off with the tweezer's edge. I have been using the same screens for well over a year. You could call this my cheap bastard method.

I have used a standard flat screen over the four hole glass screen in the Solo2 stem and that created better airflow, as it kept bits of flower away from the holes.

I have used an upside down basket screen in my Argo, OG Solo, and now am going to put one in my air max. It cuts down the bowl in the glass stem's size by about one half. It created greater air flow and shortened the session quite a bit. It is a better option for me than packing a full stem...

I have the new Max and the airflow is much better than my Solo 2. I didn't have any issues with flow in the Solo 2, but the Max seems like its as free flowing as can be. Does anyone use an upside-down basket screen for shorter sessions/microdosing? Is there any other method used?
