To be honest, I've never had a problem dabbing with my Clear Matrix. It's one of my favorite rigs for a reason, that thing makes it a smooth hit no matter what I'm smoking or how big of a hit. It's just magical. It's right next to my Rooster Apparatus for smoothest rigs I've ever hit.

I would say something in your experience made the difference, because several people here have already testified that overnight SG soaks don't leave stains. Either it's PBW itself or something.
