the spacer and ptfe tape arent to hold the heater cover stable, theyre to keep the actual ceramic element centered in the heater cover, keeping the element centered keeps it from contacting the glass and potentially damaging it and it also is a much better placement because air can surround it...

the vaporgenie is always the vape i grab if im going to a friends house, i use it with a refillable candle flame lighter and vector butane, and that doesnt contaminate the flavor at all. my friends caught on to the vaporggenie pretty quickly, i wouldnt reccommend a torch lighter or hot air...

dont the butane heat soldering irons create a lot of carbon monoxide? ive tried using a hakko 456 with the vaporgenie, it works somewhat but i still prefer a lighter, its much easier to control i never notice any flavor from the flame unless it touches something

you may not need the screws, you only need screws if the tip of the element touches the top inside of the heater cover when the bottom of the heter cover is right on top of the flange

the problem with silicone sealant is that theres no way to make sure that it is entirely centered, when wrapped in teflon tape correctly, the thickness of the teflon is equal on all sides by all means experiment though, the design is still far from perfect, i havent even been able to properly...

theres already a thread here about vaping salvia, my vape of choice for that would have to be the vaporgenie, because the heat stops when im not hitting, i dont have to worry about burns, breakage, or fires. the vaporgenie extracts very well and the temp control is pretty easy for an experienced...

my usual range was 45-50, 30-35 are lower temp vapor imo a good tip is to let the heater cover warm up for about 10 mins, you can also put it on a higher temp for the preheat, like around 60 then turn it down to 45 it takes a lot of fiddling, i havent quite mastered temps and warmup times myself
