All I was getting at is that if the bowl shouldn't be opened up more than 1/4 of the way, it should have had a stop on it. Since it doesn't, if it breaks or pulls the solder apart it is considered to be defective engineering. No voodoo there.

@vapedck and Glass004- read through the last few pages. No one has had any success vaping wax/shatter/oil. Ego pen style batteries with a glass globe setup would be my suggestion for a cheap effective way to vape your oil. Unless you want to invest in a glass rig. GL

I've used un compressed kief sandwiched between bud with good results. It gives you a hash taste along with with the taste of the bud you use.

Has anyone had any success vaping concentrates alone in the Ascent? I've tried putting shatter and wax inside a cotton bowl but it didn't vape at all. I've had limited success mixing some with bud but I'd like to vape only a concentrate- it's a taste thing.

If you want a packing tool you could easily put a bit of Blu Tac in the glass can then push a chop stick or something similar into it for a handle. Myself I just use the glass can by itself, I really don't need any type of handle with it. Just a thought.

That's what I'm afraid of ^^^. I only use my Ascent about 4 x a week, I'm a hoping that if I have any problems they show before my warranty ends. I'd hate to have a defective problem after my warranty runs out.
